I feel so bad for the players about to feel your wrath dhal, even if you are off racing.
I've finally managed to find a zvz strat that works well for me (for now). Day9's strategy that he did a few weeks (months?) ago: a fast spire tech with roaches to block the ramp. Turns out taking out overlords so they can't make units is a really good idea.
It's stupid things like not realising that until many games of frustration failing with it that make me think I'm doomed to suck at this game.

so it has changed a lot about my early tvz that I know standard bane timing is as lair starts
I never knew that until recently... these are timings that are so essential in knowing how to respond... if I see a bling nest and no lair I can safely figure aggression is coming. it has been true every time I've responded that way and damn is it fun to win because you respond right. I thought winning by straight up out macroing was the best but I was wrong. it's seeing, assessing, knowing, responding, destroying.
edit - ha, I hope that's the standard timing... don't think I imagined that. man I get paranoid in here about being wrong.

He's in Germany right now, casting with Khaldor, the black dragon tournament I think. Three games were on today, around 17:00-18:00 CET, more tomorrow I think/hope. Even with lag and waiting for games the stream was fun to watch, Khaldor trying to get Day[J] to open a bottle with a phone.

Banelings nest can come out earlier if they don't get speedling upgrade first.
Day9 is my hero. One benefit of not playing SC2 for forever and coming back to it, all your old bad habits are no longer there and can be replaced by non-shitty ones.
One of my favorite things about watching a stream is when they run up against another notable player. Antimage (never watched his before) just ran into Ret for instance (still going on)

I was just playing a Terran and killed all but two...
yes, two...
of his SCVs off of 2 base baneling aggresion.
I have about 10 lings left in his base just attacking random stuff and a single banshee pops.
He drives off the lings with the banshee, lands his two CCs (which he'd lifted) and proceeds to use 7 mules at once.
I, meanwhile, have 30+ drones and start techning to muta to deal with the silly rising buildings.
He quickly builds up an army of 4 hellions, a viking, a medvac, 3 banshees, and a pack of marines, and proceeds to use it to kill me.
I checked his income during the muling on the replay and it was at 1800/min.
I took solice in winning my next game (a ZvZ) with 10-pool banelings.
