Glenn Beck played the audio clip of the question being asked during his radio show this morning. He played it off as nervous laughter from the audience but it didn't sound nervous to me.
Funny Games is that retarded meta movie about how the audience ahbors violence until its violence they like right?
Yeah. It's not a great movie but I actually do think its a pretty interesting and crazy commentary on movie-goers. It's a good movie to write a paper on, and I did twice in college. Some of the shot composition is really cool and the scene with
Naomi Watts tied freeing herself after her son is murdered
is a mishmash of really interesting filmmaking techniques.
I for one really liked it.

Philip Seymour Hoffman is one of my favorite living actors.
I loathed it for its meta/breaking the fourth wall bullshit. Naomi Watts is terrible in almost everything she's in. I hate that kind of attitude from the film maker, "i'm not actually showing kids getting shot so it's a commentary on movie violence and not also an exploitation of that!"
also, they killed a dog. That honestly bugs me way more than seeing violence against children in movies. Like, in Signs, those assholes just left their dogs out to die. Fuck that.
Podlyyou unzipped me! it's all coming back! i don't like it!Registered Userregular

here's my phillips seymour hoffman story
so one day hugh jackman was getting pizza at the slice joint across the street from my work. paparazzi were mobbing him and followed him down the street. a crowd assembled to watch him and people called out his name. i was like "who cares?"
the next day I saw phillip seymour hoffman walking down the street. nobody even turned around to do the "hey was that the dude from capote?" and I was inside my work going "OH MAN IT'S PHILLIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN! I LOVE HIM"

I love this movie so much.
I can't help but grin like a fool every single time I watch it.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
Plasticish. It's an explosive mixed with a plasticizer and a plastic binder so you get something flexible that goes boom.
Michael Bay: THAT WILL DO
... because of all the exposed penises.
It subverts the norms so well!

Yes, both it and the US remake were both very, very stupid

You know whats funny?
I have access to the control panel for most of our websites.
I can't remember the password.
But Firefox does.
AV Club loved it, which lead to my viewing. God damn, AV Club.
Scott Tobias' and Nathan Rabin's tastes usually line up pretty well with my own. Natasha Robinson is just awful though.
That is quite a talent. I'm jealous. I hate you.
