In metro detroit area I knew a lot of people that had them made in Windsor. My cousin was dumb and got one to say he was 19 so he could drink in Canada, then got one for 21 when he went away to college.
I've recently stopped being carded. I'm getting old, and bearded...
Just wait until the grays start coming out. My beard in the last year has turned from brown into a blondish color, and now the blonds are slowly starting to turn gray. Strangely it is getting me more attention from women than before.
I still get carded when I buy smokes though. I don't buy alcohol anymore, but I bet I'd get carded then.
I refuse to admit that its already sort of happening.

Dogfish Head has been making this new Mahogany Ale I hadn't tried until recently called "Raison D'Etre" (I don't know how to get that accent over the E)
it is super tasty, and then I realized it is 8% alcohol

with good dark spirits, different people will tell you different "best" ways to drink them.
My suggestion is you try a few and see which you prefer.
Neat will be the most flavourful, but also the most overwhelming
pouring in a little still water, let's say 3 parts rum to 1 part water will cut some of that intensity so the flavour is more easily discernible
if you drop in 1 or 2 pieces of ice, it will chill it and also impart that little bit of water
a whole bunch of ice will make it cold as hell but also pretty watered down
with a bit of soda is another way, which if you're used to drinking with coke will feel similar, but won't mask any of the flavour of the rum with a strong mixer

Got a 22 oz. bottle of Mission St. Hefeweizen for tonight, the reviews on BeerAdvocate are pretty varied but it should hopefully be alright. It was only $2 at Trader Joe's, anyways.

I actually look my age-ish now but I am toooo young looking to ever pass for any older than I am
but we had 25-year-old friends in high school so it wasn't a concern
It was nice not having to send friends in to the store for cigarettes and have them severely punished should they ever be caught doing it.
