I'm looking for an affordable way for my wife and I to keep track of each others locations. In case I need to sit down and play an hour of whatever and she goes off to see whatever. Has anyone used some sort of two way locator while at the expo, or do they allow walkie talkies (will they work with all that noise etc?).
There does exist some cheap "kid finder" locators that work within 150 feet, but they all look like garbage. Good GPS devices, on the other hand, are too expensive. We might go as far to spend up to 50 bucks on this (its get double usage since we do have a kid at home).
We actually have two trackfones specifically for this kind of thing, but I was under the impression that coverage will be kind of awful from inside the convention.

This sort of thread might garner a more useful response in Help/Advice. While the reason you need a locator is for PAX, I don't think the people in this particular subforum have any expertise with the type of device you are looking to invest in.
