So celebrity sightings
We've all got a few stories, I've met, among others, Joss Whedon, Eliza Dushku, Stephen Frears, Rob Lowe was at my house for a few minutes, MC Hammer went to the gym near my work one time
But some are different
I drove up to Sydney yesterday with my Dad for some pretty mundane reasons
We're driving back tomorrow night, so we only had one day to do stuff
I find out that Jersey Boys, the musical about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is in town, and we get some great last minute tickets. I was the only one in my family who hadn't seen it in Melbourne due to some weird scheduling conflict that I can't remember
Before the show I heard rumblings, but then during interval I turn around and there he was, five rows away
I walked up to him, literally shaking
"mr Valli?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you sign my ticket please?"
"sure."
I have, in my hand, an autograph from Frankie Valli, who I met at the musical about his life, on the one day I ended up a ten hour drive from home and in the audience of a show I just happened to have wanted to see
That's a real celebrity story
So what crazy encounters have you had with celebrities guys?
Posts
edit: the frankie valli thing. I ain't interested in beasteh's grandmotherly shenanigans.
I mean the best thing would probably to ask for a locke of hair or some blood.

I have had the artist-in-residence for Hamburg 1998 in my house. He is a cool dude.
He has an ear growing out of his arm.
!
!!
Did you get him to roll dice to see where he has to sing your autograph?
Because I imagine he has memorize the table for such things.
This probably won't mean much to Americans (or English folk under the age of about 25) but it meant a lot at the time.
Tall-Paul MIPsDroid
Is he a cool dude?
I really like zombie dice...
EDIT: My GURPS joke is ruined.
she visited the naval academy my dad worked at
shook my hand, was very nice
Lea Salonga (got all gay excited)
Edgar Wright
Tommy Tallarico (actually pretty funny and not a doucher)
and the guy who voiced the original Speed Racer. He's dead now
But nope..
But at the time I didn't know who he was.
What spring does with the cherry trees.
Michael Chiklis (Work - Beverly Hills)
Victoria Beckham (Work - Beverly Hills)
I've seen up close (within a few feet):
Hulk Hogan (Hollywood)
Sylvester Stallone (Work - Beverly Hills)
Anthony Anderson (Wingstop - Santa Clarita)
Walking down Queen st I believe.
I stop at a light.... riiiiiight next to Mos Def...
we happen to be walking in the same direction, I'm letting him walk ahead of me (I'm considerably taller than him so I could have passed him whenever I wanted, but I wanted to see where he was going!)
As I'm walking people are turning their heads "Mos def, mos def, etc..." to eachother
I'm getting pretty excited cause I like Mos Def alot so it'd be cool to say hi to him or something.
His buddy walks into the adidas store, he stands outside and pulls out his phone
I only have a couple seconds before that phone conversation starts, so I'd better say something really cool.
I step like I'm passing him and make eye contact...
"Mos def?"
<he nods>
I'm all "Peace, man..."
Take one step forward...
WHAM, right into this lady talking on her phone carrying shopping bags, not paying attention to where she's going...
UGHHHHHHHH
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
It was at an interview/signing for the launch of Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way
guy is hilarious
alot of people crowded around him... it was awkward...
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
Man, wide awake club / wacaday was a larger part of my childhood than I'd like to admit.
I mean, look at him:
I met Timmy Mallet at Butlins once and he told me to piss off fucking annoying kids
Next year we went to Center Parcs.
I played music for her once.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
My girl still won't let me live the Mos Def one down... She still thinks it was my fault that lady crashed into me... I dunno, I wasn't talking on my phone... I guess I should have looked forward instead of looking at Mos Def...
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
If I ever meet her I'd tell her I loved her in RED
Dan Marino would infrequently rent from the Blockbuster I worked at. The only time I ever really spoke to him was when he once asked me if I knew which movie was it that had Ed Norton playing a retarded guy. Other than that he acted like any other customer. Better actually. Patiently waited in line. Payed any fees without complaint.
The movie was The Score, just in case anyone cares!
that lady is tiny
I think that's it for celebs
