I decided to go on a sandstone seeking journey. I picked south as there's lots of desert not too far from spawn, and I packed my bags excitedly and off i went. I traveled to cliff city by rail, and from then on i trekked above ground and then as i reached the edge of the island, by boat. It got horrendously dark and perilous, and I eventually found myself stuck on a pillar of dirt surrounded by creepers on all sides, lost, and not knowing where the hell I was. My boat smashed. some lights in the distance but no way of getting to it.... then the storm started. I was terrified of getting hit by lightning, so much so i passed out. (...logged off. ha)

I woke up again to find it midday and the storm howling around me still and I frantically looked at my map to find my position from the few, ambiguous landmarks around me. I suddenly found the small sandy bay I was cowering in, and whooped in delight. I saw that south still, there seemed to be a small settlement. perhaps they would help me? I jumped in a new boat and sailed off.... soon I came to an ominous looking statue or totem, and I began having second thoughts. But i was tired. soaking wet. desperate for warm shelter and a place to rest before taking on that final leg of the journey to the deserts. I sailed on and then I REALLY knew i was in for it when I saw before me a giant, pentagram imbedded in lava. But i was so desperate, and the light was fading so fast, i ran the boat into the shore where it smashed, and I crawled soggily up the steps.

The sign read: Worship Cthulu. I wimpered. But then behind me, i saw a warm looking, inviting house. I overcame my fear of devilry, and found my way inside. The warm, lush wood provided me with a much welcome comfort, and I collapsed on the rug in the hallway, warm, dry, ...safe? And here I am, lured into the inviting arms of the devil, AKA Rogerliebhart.

To whomever is extending the east tunnel: thank you for all your hard work. If I might make a small request, make your tunnels 3m tall (instead of 2). Minecarts can't safely be used in 2m-tall tunnels.

So long long long story short we are moving hosts and I have complete confidence that they will work out fine for us. I will try and make this process as swift as possible. Also yay for money back guarentees.

The server will be going down real soon and I will keep you all updated. Sorry about all the shittiness, I wont rest until we have a host that works for us.

So heres the reason for the long downtime between moves. Mainly its the map file. it takes about an hour to download, then it takes about 4-5ish to upload depending on how my upload is doing. The map file is currently 3.88GBs and everything else takes minutes compared to it.

Again I am terribly sorry for all the downtime over this weekend, it should be our last in a while.

If you have shell access, it's virtually certain to be faster to copy it server-to-server. scp filename user@server2:/whateverpath/
Dunno if that helps or works in this case.

I only have FTP access, not shell access. Can I transfer server to server in that case?

Absolutely. ftp foo.example.com, login as you, "cd" as needed to change remote directories, type "bin", then put the file.

It seems I cant use putty to access the server files. I currently use winscp to copy files around.

Tracks now appear to have been laid as far east as our base (-2498). I will setup a station as soon as the server is back up. Not sure what name we'll pick, but I'll update once it is built.

This is regrettably a different move. The host we moved to yesterday has been nothing but pure shit so I am moving again. I dont like this anymore then you all do but I do what I feel I must.
