On a lark I pre-ordered at Gamestop. The Black Templar armor just looks so much better than the Ultramarine drabness.
I am very upset I will have to enter a gamestop and do a dreaded preorder for a chapter that would be more willing to send 5 marines to take on a WAAAGH
I honestly have no idea what characteristics the Black Templars have, aside from fantastic fashion sense and one of the less silly chapter names in the franchise.
The black templars are, as the name suggests, the Crusader archetypes of the 40K universe. They uh, they go on crusades and differ from other chapters in that they are mostly always on "crusade fleets" and employ different ranks as well
I don't even think they have a homeworld. They're just always crusadin'

Back in the day, before I lost my miniatures, I had made up a chapter that was basically assistants to the Inquisition. They were all gunmetal grey/cobalt blue and Grey Knight backup. Sounds like the Black Templars have a similar concept. Yay.

They are pretty puritan in the sense they don't even tolerate trained psykers so no librarians in their ranks. They're not exactly buddies with the inquisition either though for for having more than 1000 mans in their chapter, apparently that's frowned upon.
Just guessing here but it looks like a Grenade launcher.
More particularly, I believe it's a type of grenade launcher Relic has introduced to the IP. Basically it sounds like the Demoman's sticky launcher if I recall correctly.

This guy apparently likes to color black and white 40k art, often Adrian Smith's stuff. It is awesome

Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. - Lincoln
The lore surrounding the two settings has varied a lot over the years. At one point Warhammer Fantasy was took place on a planet in the 40K setting. At other points they've been entirely separate
I think the current explanation is that they're simply two different settings altogether
Oh, alright. I was wondering why there were dwarves in WH but not in WH40k.

Well there sort of are, they're called Demiurg, they work for the Tau, live on massive ships and sail around mining asteroids.
And when they say "Skull Throne" really the Skull Throne itself is a massive throne made of Brass. It merely sits atop a massive mountain of skulls larger than any world you can, on a massive ocean of blood that dwarfs that mountain of skulls, and grows as blood is shed throughout the universe.

40K had "Squats". They were basically a faction of miners who got affected by gravity on the mining worlds until they looked like dwarves. These didn't sell very well so eventually they got eaten by Tyranids and removed from 40K altogether
Now it is rumoured that a new species called the "Demiurg" will replace them as the de-facto space dwarfs. The Demiurg are basically born on spaceships and in my mind they are an empire of very dangerous space truckers. (Except instead of trucks they travel around in titanic fuck-off vessels)
I have stared into Satan's asshole, and it fucking winked at me.

There were also more stereotypical dwarfs in 40K back in the first couple of editions. But they got retconned out, which is probably for the best as they were almost literally 'space dwarfs' with no real defining traits other than that.
Edit; eh, beat'd by Neli
Anyway I'm actually pretty excited for this game, looks cool from what I can see.
Do Chaos marines fuse with their armour or something?
A lot of the art seems to suggest it.
Well, normal marines are effectively fused to their armour (via the black carapace) and their armour warps after they turn to Chaos so yes. I'm pretty sure it has been explicit stated that they're fused to it in a few places.

A lot of them are, especially the old ones.
Newer chaos marines take a while to do so. You spend enough time never taking off your armor and it's bound to happen, especially if you live in the warp. Hell, it'd probably happen to any loyalist marine who did the same. But there are a shit-ton of 10,000 year old Chaos marines and only a handful of 10,000 year old loyalist marines.
I thought the demiurg were hinted to be the space skaven? (though that presumptions going way back)
Shame to hear they've dropped that in favour of the worst fantasy race.
That would be the Hurd. Well, one of the few pictures of a Hurd has a rat-like tail and they look damn dirty... like rats. Which would lead one to speculate that it would be Space Skaven.

Actually there are none. It's explicitly stated in the fluff that the oldest space marines around are only about 1000. Well if we're not counting dreadnoughts but even then there's only one loyalist dreadnought in the fluff from the time of the great crusades, that spacewolf one, Bjorn the Fellhanded I think.

Like they are recovering from a genestealer gang bang.
His sidearm. Just in case...
Give them some scars or an augmentic limb for pitys sake, this isn't Jersy Shore.
Needs about 50 times moar grimdark.

That's saying a lot considering all Space Marines are to begin with.

It makes me want to take overlord and make it into a total conversion so you play a warboss commanding hordes of orks.

More like
You gonna get nurgle'd
Needs more severed heads.
A typical chaos gentleman
that picture isn't even from 40k
Huge blade, fat, insects, huge frontal horn
The above is Typhus (from 40K) and they might as well be the same character

If its not a spike its a skull!

But they're not. So GW says.
Some do some don't. Some look like regular marines under their helmets, others look like spaghetti and meatballs
It's chaos, basically
But yeah the chaos can do some pretty nasty things to a marine over the years
