Though strong Season 2 rumors have been circulating for some time, Hasbro has just made the official announcement in this press release:Returning series with new episodes on The Hub for 2011-2012....
"My Little Pony Friendship is Magic"
Furthermore, Equestria Daily reports that Top Draw Animation is listing Season 2 (click on the MLP thumbnail on the right side of the page). Top Draw shows 24 episodes for the second season (down from 26 in Season 1). It also notes that production will commence April 2011 and conclude December 2011. However, since some episodes may air before all of the episodes are completed, it is not yet clear when Season 2 will begin to air.

Its very existence is on permanent thin ice, and I'm pretty much the only reason you people get one as it is.
