The Library of Congress presents The National Jukebox
The National Jukebox debuts featuring more than 10,000 78rpm disc sides issued by the Victor Talking Machine Company between 1900 and 1925.

It's kind of like Pandora for old stuff!

Listen to George Gershwin playing Rhapsody in Blue!

Listen to Teddy Roosevelt giving the trusts what for!

Listen to possibly the first blues song ever recorded!

Check it out, and link interesting pieces you find here!

    An Irish-Dutch Argument

weird to think what people 100 years from now will think about the videos, musics, and recordings of this era.

Probably something along the lines of:
"Wow, those years you couldn't turn your head without being bombarded by media. Imagine what that must have been like. Screens in every room, spending all day staring at one and then going home and staring ant another one? Internet videos and music on their phone? They must not have even had time to think!"
"Well that would explain a few of the decisions they made," says another.
"Good point! Well, these irradiated ruins aren't going to scavenge themselves. Pass me some of that man-jerky I had to skip lunch when the pig-men ambushed us."

CD see if you can find the original 1933 recording of black Betty for me.

I imagine since the recordings stop in 1925 it will be a challenge.

What I love about the movie is that the Coen Brothers said in an interview after Fargo
That they wanted to make an epic Ma and Pa Kettle movie

    And they totally did
    based on an actual epic
