The first bit of this show that I saw was Leland's dance. Was quite confusing.

    The show is absolutely amazing.

Also: The house used for the external shots of the Palmers' home is for sale.

I love Twin Peaks and how it's still culturally significant. On one hand I wish there was more than the two seasons, but at the same time it really went out on a high note instead of so many other shows.

I totally screwed up when I first saw the ads for the show here. They really promoted it as.. well, not anything as interesting as it really was, so as to not frighten off the conservative television audiences we had at the time. Hell, we only got a non-state TV channel in 1989. By the time I found out it was a subversive challenging damn-fine-cup-of-coffee show, I had already missed my chance to start at the beginning, in those VHS pre-DVD what-the-hell-is-the-internet-anyway days.

If I had actually known how good it was going to be when I first saw the body-wrapped-in-plastic billboards... well, I would have done things differently. As it is, I've only ever managed to catch a handful of shows, piecemeal and out of order. I should rectify that, but I rarely manage to sit down and just watch TV for much period of time anymore. Another thing I should rectify.

i think the movie is terrific

if you're going into it expecting loose ends of the series to be tied up you're going to be disappointed, but it's got a ton of scenes that rival anything from the show

it does confirm one sorta unanswered question from the show
that the real Dale is still trapped in the black lodge, and it's his doppleganger that BOB escaped in.

The movie doesn't really offer anything that wasn't already addressed in the TV show. It's just a big rehash about the premise for the show.

James is just brutally bad. It's amazing that a show with so many great characters could strike out so hard on James. I want to make a custom edit of Twin Peaks that removes every scene with James except

    when awkward magic happens

I mean that is up there for weirdest scene in the series. So random. The "That was really good, let's try it again" at the beginning is what really makes it. They're practicing this repeatedly? What?

It would have been hard to get to all the characters I wanted to put in the OP without giving stuff away. I really wanted people who haven't seen the show to start watching it and then come back in here and talk about the WTF moments.

In my opinion this show was Lost before Lost...
