Man I need to get more ties. I just did a clean out last week of all my old stuff, and managed to keep like 10 or so. That is not enough. I also need to get more shirts...white button downs are reliable, but predictable.

You know what I fear? The 90s fashion revival. I remember being a little girl in the 90s, and I dressed in either one of two ways: themed, or rakish tomboy. I loved my themed outfits; cowgirl, Parisienne, milkmaid etc. My mom could not get me to otherwise enjoy dressing 'normally'. Because I looked at everyone else and thought they looked terrible. Paisley, glitter, bootcut jeans (I lever liked them, you couldn't roll them up if you needed too), African prints on white women, tight patterned cotton pants, denim on denim, yuck. And if they bring back high-waisted pants I just don't know what I will do. I remember my mom being frustrated in being unable to find jeans with the higher waistline she was used to buying for me. I was thrilled however, low-rise jeans were so much more comfortable, even though they did usher in an era of muffin tops.
The nicest thing about 90s fashion though? It was so much easier to find straight leg jeans. Now there are only skinny and bootleg.
Also the enduring trend of this decade that I disliked the most were those high-waisted shirts and dresses. Great if you've got sweet tits, but if not they just make you look shapeless and a little bit pregnant. I don't know that the taste for loose, airy clothing will ever fade however. It is much easier on the manufacturers, because they can get away with shoddier construction and it is more difficult to notice. Fitted clothing costs more and takes more time and care to make.
End rant, I guess.
