I grew up (read: ages 5 to 13ish) on Asimov and Clarke

For me around those ages it was Asimov and Heinlein

    Heinlein.

I still have to read Stranger every year, it gets to the point I'm looking for a new book to read and I remember I have that one, and that settles it for a week, then its back to looking again. And then every couple of years I read all the Heinlein I have, just so I don't forget them.

It's nice to come back to the ones that you love. Besides, Stranger had lots of fucking and who doesn't like that?

Epicurus was pretty chill I guess

    I'm guessing you're an atheist

Existential angst really sucks but Epicurus seemed to have a pretty good grip on things from that perspective, even though he wasn't technically an atheist, I think

English pancakes are thicker than crepes.

    And arguably more delicious.

    But yes.

I try not to make mine too thick!

Axim - the beautiful aspect of pancakes/crepes is that almost anything goes with them. After all, they're made up of three very simple, every day ingredients. Savoury are good as well as sweet.

True, but anything other than lemon and sugar is intrinsically inferior to that rapturous combination.

while i agree i have never actually eaten a 'dinner' crepe due to various cultural stereotypes that have been deeply ingrained in my person. one day i will know their greatness but it will require perseverance and a reeducation in food compatibility

I used to wonder why there were jokes about british cooking.
