I really want to see a 4th Panel for this one.

But, hey, at least we now know how Gabe's physically impossible hair works now.

Didn't they do the "damnit Obama" thing once before?

Today's comic abruptly lost its momentum and fell completely flat at the punchline. Which is unfortunate because I had just cracked a smile at the Puppet Union line.

Really late edit: First panel walking Div was also excellent. So weird to end it the way they did.

The best part about this comic is Tycho taking Div for a walk.

Yea, I hope they keep politics out of this... I didn't really find this one funny. A rare miss.

It has nothing to do with politics. That's why it's funny.

It mentions Obama and it mentions unions (which is a current political issue). I'm not saying it's not allowed, just that I thought this particular comic wasn't funny. It's also a bit random.

Because I find the way the world is run interesting, and enjoy seeing how men of power use and abuse it.

I've made a hobby out of political observation and analysis for nearly 18 years, yet I despise actually engaging in discussing or debating it, especially online.

I prefer to think of it as just a throwaway line, and move on. If we're seriously going to start a thing over this, and not ventriloquismisting or the aforementioned free games instead, I'm just going to grumble at the thread and go fiddle with projected electoral college maps on my own. Because I'll tell you something: this is a HAPPY place.

There is no way this is becoming a politics thread. I'm pretty sure they still aren't even allowed, and with good reason. Talking politics on the internet is super awful. It's even awful to talk about in person tbh.

Well, eventually there's probably going to be one within several months, just because of unfolding events, but for now, yeah, there's no reason for one. There's always a political thread over in D+D where you can vent hatred towards 45-55% of the country's voters at any given time while being either agreed with by everyone else or spit at by everyone else.

I just hope I get to make the next OP again when it is allowed, because at least then it'll probably start off with something neutral and informative before immediately devolving into angry partisan rants.

    You forgot your image:
Because that already had its own thread last year.

I'd just take the half a million dollars, thanks.

Which also brings up the question: What is the puppet going to do with his $500,000? Buy a miniature sports car?

And, again, it has nothing to do with politics. There's no such thing as puppet unions, and Obama would have nothing to do with them.

That's, you know, the joke. It has nothing to do with politics, and everything to do with how Gabe's response has nothing to do with anything. It's an out-of-left-field response.

Thanks for telling me the absolute meaning of the joke though as you seem to have a real bead on things. Did you know that things are inherently subjective? Were you aware? One could say that there's a tacit remark in the comic that dummies represent the working class which needs and relies on unions. I apologize if that's one of the things that flashed through my mind, oh right... no I don't. I read this comic to AVOID politics, it's one of the few things which I feel aren't despoiled by politics which I think is bordering on a pathological delusion at this point. People can't not make a shitstorm over politics these days but I thought this forum was a little less reactionary, so I left my honest feedback. My mistake, clearly. Second attempt; Laugh, joke was funny trolololol. You might see the joke one way but I see it another way, it's sort of interesting how that works.

Free games get expensive when you want your little avatar to look like a bandito or wear a prom dress. I understand his desire to earn ventriloquist money.

    But

    you don't see the joke

there's really no room for interpretation here the way you think there is

you've imagined details and levels of subtext that simply aren't there, and then are claiming that they make the comic less funny.

show us any other penny arcade strip that has the same amount of metaphor that you say it's valid to read into this strip. You can't, because there aren't any, because that's not what Penny Arcade is. But I guess for some reason this one strip is using puppets as a metaphor for the working class?

"This comic is subjective and I can interpret it however I want!

So I'm gonna choose an interpretation that makes the comic less funny, and then I'm gonna complain that the comic isn't funny!"

Warhammer Online is free? Never paid attention to it, but is it free? Or free to play up to, like, level 3?

Why do people constantly misunderstand regular comics.

Mike and Jerry do not go for depth and hidden meaning. Twisp and Catsby aren't an allegory for child labor Annarchy isn't secretly a communist and Gabe is just stupid and says stupid things that have no actual meaning except in his head.

I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

You must be bored. I saw the joke. I get what you're saying. The first thing I saw was the actual joke which I didn't find funny.

Last time I checked humor is also subjective.

Whatever, you're all a bunch of aholes. I'll just stop posting here I guess since feedback is discouraged.
