Where in the balls can I find some good armor at level 15 or so?
Light, Medium, or Heavy? Including DLC areas or not?
HH has one of the best light armors (Joshua Graham's Armor), DM has the Sierra Madre reinforced armor.
You can find good medium armors in HH, OWB, and LR. Most of the base game mediums are faction-related, aside from stuff like recon suits and stock combat armor.
And heavy....hrm, same probably.
I don't know, light armor is pretty much all I've ever used. The Light Touch perk is nice and only works for light armors so why bother with anything else? :P

I remember taking Gannons Tesla Armor which has the highest DR in the game, along with its helmet, the Toughness perks and everything that could make me more unkillable. Nothing could hurt me. I swear the armor had maybe a scratch after a minute of constant enemy fire.

I played the game on release with no dlc... and now that i have all of it, i don't know how i should play the game Go mod crazy, or see what the game is like now that it's finished! Damnable indecisiveness...
Hey, I'm having some issues with this game. The game won't load up past the initial copyright screen. I've had this problem before but it fixed itself after an hour. This time it's being much more stubborn, it's been a day or two now.
I've rebooted my computer, verified the integrity of the game cache, and defragmented the cache under steam properties
Not sure where to go from here.
I'm really loving it! I'm 60 hours in, level 22. I'm doing Heartbreak by the Numbers, Caesar wants me to come see him, I'm trying to figure out how to trigger the NCR to come talk to me about the end-game, right now I'm about 24 and just tooling around the wasteland. Think I might try out Honest Hearts
Dread Pirate, are you using mods? Hard sudden crashes usually happens for me when I uninstall a mod that ANOTHER mod needs to function. Example: If I deleted the main WME esp, but left the Honest Hearts WME esp active, the game crashes instantly before loading the menu. Just happened to me in Skyrim and I had to facepalm. Stupid mistake.

Gannon's armor is the toughest medium armor, but the basic remnants armor is tougher. And the bonuses from it are pretty mediocre-to-bad.
If you don't mind running at the speed of continental drift, I'm fond of the classic 51-B. Almost never needs repairs, radiation proof, good stat boosts. Know it's not perfect, but it's classy and that makes up for a lot.

Well, this is just my opinon of course, but if I were in your shoes I'd do a mod-free playthrough for the first go, then once you've finished do a second playthrough that is mod-crazy. That way, the second playthrough feels fresh because of all the new mod-stuff you have to play with. I just find I get the most long-term value out of the game that way.

On an old play through, I had a mod that changed the Boomers Power Armor into something good but balanced. Also made gave it a new name and texture. For the life of me I can't remember what the mods name was now though.

I wish that your level would have some effect on how people treat you. It makes sense when you're level 5 and people are hassling you, but at level 25 when you've got extremely good armor and awesomely powerful weapons, they should not still be treating you like you're working with none of the colors of the rainbow except green.

Well... there is that one guy in Sloan telling you about how Deathclaws overran the quarry. If you tell him you're gonna take 'em out at level 5, he'll tell you that you'll be torn to shreds in no time. If you make the same claim at level 25, he agrees that you might stand a chance.
Don't know if there are any other examples of this, though.

The best armor in the game is Honest Heart's Desert Ranger Armor. It's the best armor in any game.

Crashing like that without mods seems kind of weird. The only thing I can think of is if somehow your dlcs got bumped up above the core game in your load order. And even that seems pretty unlikely.
What's a good character model/face texture mod? I've got all my world texture mods and other mods working like a charm now, but people themselves look kinda shitty. Any improvements I can do there? I don't mind nude stuff but it's not my main goal, obviously.

Another mod question... FO3 had a minor mod that I felt really added to the world by replacing all "X Citizen" titles with actual, random names (first and last).
Sure it made finding Quest NPCs a bitch at times, but it was nice to have Janet Collins or Robert Thomas run up and thank me for being awesome instead of just "Rivet City Citizen".
So, does New Vegas have something like that?

I have yet to see a dual-wielding mod, I'm pretty sure that's an engine limitation.
Sadly we're going to have to wait for FO4 for that.
I think the universe would explode if we could dual wield ballistic fists.

Speaking of, there a list of "best weapons" for each companion?
So far I've given Boone the .308 Sniper Rifle, Cass the 5mm carbine (shotguns don't work too well at range), and Veronica the super-heated Saturnite fist. Everyone else is using default gear.
Also, there an easier way to get Dinarii for coinshot? There's an empty space on my shelf.

Cass has the Shotgun Surgeon perk, so she'd make the most of a riot shotgun. I like to stock up on every kind of 12 Gauge ammo the Gun Runners have and give them all to her, excepting the bean bags and pulse slugs. She won't use them intelligently, but she will use them all to hilarious effect. Veronica gets the best DPS with Super-Heated Saturnite Fist, as you say. She does, notably, get better damage from the +2 STR the T-45d armor grants. Raul, with his Old Vaquero perk, would be best off using the Medicine Stick or Brush Gun. Lily can seriously rock with Oh, Baby!. Arcade Gannon, with T-45d, can accurately wield a Gatling Laser or its unique variant. Boone + T-51b can handle an antimateriel rifle, but at a very low DPS. You're better off giving him the Medicine Stick or, depending on your target, the Bozar.

Do you guys know of any monster taming mods for New Vegas like Wasteland Whisperer from FO3?
It looks like Talkietoaster hasn't brought that one over to New Vegas yet.
A small army of cazadors and tunnelers would be amazing. Cheap but amazing.
Doing a nostalgia run of FO3, reasonably modded with FWE being the biggie. Running across a randomly spawning Behemoth on the way to Rivet City - at level eight, no less - is just unfair. I basically had to sprint like a man possessed, laying down every frag mine I had (with some of them I dropped grenades too, for that extra bang) and luring it back to a bridge clogged with cars. The mines might as well have been thumbtacks, so in desperation I started shooting the cars to ignite them.
After a few mistimed explosions I got one to knock it over, but I was clean out of room. Dug out a heavy MG I'd looted from other muties, ran up to its head and emptied the goddamn thing. Ended the fight with no stimpacks, no explosives, and almost no health. The camp didn't have much loot when I limped back to it, and night was falling, meaning night ghouls weren't far off.
I can't decide if that was all annoying or amazing. Something between the two, likely.

It really is remarkable how FWE turns the whole thing more or less into STALKER 2.0. Bullets actually hurt, food and drink don't heal (but you need it anyway or you'll starve), breaking a limb is a serious problem, and the enemy just does not pull any punches. Scrambling from cover to cover is a must because making a run for it is a losing proposition. I actually waited for dark just so I could sneak past packs of muties on the mall, exploiting stealth boys where necessary and picking off weaker stragglers. If you're not built for heavy combat, you'll get fucked hard in a stand-up fight.
Needless to say this is exactly what I've been looking for in a mod. Does Project Nevada do the same stuff for New Vegas?
The restored Freeside and that Side Bets package, both of which restore a bunch of content that was largly cut because consoles couldn't handle them, seem to be must-haves for me the next time I do a new playthrough.

Well, how much of that is cut because of consoles? A lot of it seems more like ideas that couldn't get to work right or scrapped because in order to get them to work would probably called for missed deadlines.

Well most of it was due to deadlines and such, but a sizeable amount of it was cut or changed due to limitations.

I've heard that the sole reason the 360 has a whopping 512 megs of RAM instead of 256 was that Epic all but demanded it from MS for Gears of War.
