I'd like to get this for my iPad so I hope they make it a universal app.

Hmm... I like the oldschool UI in the teaser a lot more than the new floating UI in the trailer...

Also... I (sadly) get more of a Stonekeep feeling than a Dungeon Master feeling (which is a bad thing, imo)...

Heard the proposition that RIAA and MPAA should join forces and form "Music And Film Industry Association"?

No terrible voice acting, a party, it won't take 5 years to develop... where's the Stonekeep?

  • eobeteobet 8-bit childhood SwedenRegistered User regular
I guess it's just a feeling... the look and feel of the UI, the look of the dungeon itself... the look and behavior of the monsters...

Perhaps Stonekeep wasn't a terrible game, but there was definitely something "off" about it, compared to Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Lands of Lore... sort of like how Bloodwych got the features right, but the actual implementation and how it all came together didn't feel as tight as the other three games mentioned.

Trailer for the beta, game looks delicious. Secretly hoping you can put (or hax) your own party portraits in.

I'd been keeping my eye on this game for a while. They already sold me on buying this, but that trailer confirms everything I want out of the game, including the giant room-sized enemy that takes down your dudes one by one if you just stand there toe-to-toe.

Slightly off-topic, the music in the trailer reminded me of Trine.

So this game is coming out in about a month, and I feel like we need a little more excitement for this game round these parts.

Wow, that's a surprisingly fast turn-around, I didn't expect the game for at least half a year, if not longer. Not complaining! Does anyone know if there are any plans for a (toned down) mobile device port? I'd love having a game like this on my Android, it feels like the simplistic input and slower pace would be perfect for mobile gaming.

The first person turn based RPG thing is pretty fun on mobile. id software made a bunch of Doom, Wolfenstein, and Orcs and Elves RPG's for mobile and they were pretty fun.

For some reason I call bullshit on that HarpoonIPA guy being disabled. I don't know why considering I think its neat in many other games makes changes for disabled.

I guess because the thought of a disabled person who has to use a mouth device and is named after a beer. Like some paraplegic asking for special kinect support in Dance Central 3 for people like him but is named DankNugs420.

    Sorry.

A healthy dose of skepticism never hurt anyone. But still, for those folks out there who ARE actually disabled, this is a welcome change and shows class on the part of the developer. More options is always better.

Just found out about this game. Boughted so hard. I loved the first EoTB. It was in an era of games where you really couldn't get easy online help for anything. Being forced to actually figure out the puzzles and finding all the neat little things created dopamine highs unheard of in my younger years. I really had the same sense of exploration and discovery (minus the puzzles) in the NES version of Pool of Radiance.

Its too bad I could never get past the garden in EotB II (or was it 3?). Never could find my way out of that damn maze.

Uh.. maybe I'm misreading this, but are you saying disabled people shouldn't be enjoying mood-altering substances?

Also, good beer is awesome. If his name was BuddLightSmoka, then, yes. He may be disabled, but he's still a douche. But Harpoon IPA? That's far from a terrible beer.

Whats the correlation between being disabled and having onscreen arrows to click? How is that easier or harder to use then keyboard commands for a paraplegic?

He'll probably use an eye tracking device so that he can just look at what he wants to activate.

He said he used a mouth stick so this way he could just click on the arrow keys on the gui.

Is the dungeon gonna be randomly generated each time, or is it gonna be the same dungeon each time?

I'll be getting it either way, but it would be nice.

Although, aren't there those clicky arrows in the OP video from 2011? The new optional GUI looks exactly like the splash screen on the OP YouTube video. Was it that they removed that layout in the beta and then added it back after the request in January?
