But the way I see it is this:

1) You are a complete numbnut, incapable of coming up with anything funny, even given three weeks.

2) You were actually too busy, and yet for some reason, it never crossed your mind to, oh, drop out of the contest so that someone who would actually participate could take your spot.

3) You decided not to even fucking bother, counting on your standing to see you through to round 2.

I am completely willing to accept another option, if none of those adequately capture the situation. I mean, none of them sound right, but I suppose number 2 is the least unlikely.

i had a great idea from the beginning, which i was unable to complete fully because HOLY FUCK, THE FORUM IS NOT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN MY LIFE.

rather than deny meissnerd a battle thread, i submitted something that i felt was funny, even though there wasn't a lot of time put into it since i didn't have any
