The Man Who Stole Rapture...

So I have never posted here or anything like that, in fact I don't even go here much. I'm hoping this is the right section. On saturday, the latest top 5 minecraft creations was posted. The theme was underwater creations. I immediately thought of the amazing work you guys did about a year ago. I thought to myself, I wonder if that will be in here. Then I thought, who would be stupid enough to steal something like that? Well I was wrong...

A man by the name of bloodjr0011 has done just that. He made #3 in the video. Don't let this man get away with this, at least make a post on his most recent vid, so that anyone visiting him will know he is a liar.

What makes him stealing our rapture really shamefull (on his end) is how he just trots around "his" not-stolen undersea kingdon as if he did it all by himself and it took no effort at all. What a load of Bull.

To anyone who made the orignal Rapture (I wouldent know, I havent played minecraft at all in a long time, really should join you guys) can I get some basic info on how long it took to build as well as the amount of people it took to contribute, just so I can hang my head in shame?

Wasn't the original PA tour linked to some fairly widespread sites? Reddit and whatno, if I'm not mistaken? Just makes it even funnier that he'd try to take credit for the work.

The people who care about this sort of thing are apt to invalidate his claim pretty quickly. I mean, all he really 'stole' was a moment sharing the stuff. Word'll get around he didn't do it, if it hasn't already.

But to get all angrysauce at this guy and spam his channel is not the right response. He is just one person on the internet, and we know what the creation of the community was and how much work went into creating it.

The best method of dealing with this guy would probably be to contact Machinima directly (through e-mail) and explain to them the situation while providing evidence, rather than just spamming the person that stole the map.

A recent EDGE article on Minecraft had a couple of user created stuff dotted around the page and the PA Rapture was one of them.

Why? Easier to sweep it under the rug than acknowledge that he got duped? Reminds me of how I pointed out the winner of some E3 contest broke not just the rules but the "legal asscover" rules and was completely ignored by the contest organizers.

Heh. I just downloaded the map file he had posted in his youtube comments to see which version he had. It includes a "players" folder containing files for Ein, DeShadowC, and a few other PA players.

Edit: Looks like he only has the map that contains Rapture and nothing else. Taking a quick look around, the only thing he's altered was the spawn area. He attached an ugly and sloppy platform to the lighthouse where the steps coming out of the water used to be. So that's probably what he meant by "the penny arcade spawn is broken and mine is alot differnt"

This surprised me. I figured he would have had the version Ein posted on mc forums. I thought I was one of the few left who had the original server files with all the members, plugins etc. Unless the players folder was just sitting in the map folder, in which case, ignore the previous statement lol.

Also, is all this talk about rapture making anyone want to make, well rapture? It could probably be done a lot better now than it could be a year ago, and that glitch that killed the server last time should be fixed by now...
