An argument could be made for electing a random pope today. Most candidates would give most players at least a minor victory, and the ratio is unlikely to be more favorable in the near future.

This post bothers me. The first line seems like odd advice, and the second line seems to be trying to hide behind "but don't listen to me!!" Also, trying to control the thread strikes me as suspicious in and of itself.
