From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

LION KING IS OUT ON BLU RAY TODAY!!

If you preordered the diamond edition (like I did) you got this kickass steelbox case

600full-lion-king-blu--ray-diamond-edition-(metalpack)-cover.jpg

You can buy it blu ray/DVD combo or 3D blu ray/blu ray/DVD combo or do what I did and get all of that and a motherfucking lunch box!

lionking3Dbestbuy.jpg
Yes this is the best pic of the lunch box I could find...

You can also buy all 3 Lion King movies in one set but who gives a shit about the sequels?

It's a pretty kickass set

LionKing8-disc.jpg

There is no reason not to buy this shit. If you're broke, sell some plasma. If you don't own a blu ray player...buy it anyway.

I love these steelbox preorders. I've got one for Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story 3 as well.

Going to get the one for Cars 2 also. Not a big fan of the Cars movies but my kids love them.

I don't think I've seen the sequels. Disney sequels tend to be rushed together ripoffs. We own both of the Little Mermaid sequels and they are both pretty terrible.

My niece loves it. She prefers it over the first one. I think she's crazy, but what do I know.

That box set with all the movies would be nice for her. Does it only include the 3D versions or does it have both he 2-D and 3-D?

I watched a bunch of different movies in school.

Red Dawn, Cool Hand Luke, Full Metal Jacket, The Godfather I & II.

Of course they were shitty end of the road schools.

Amazon confirms that only Lion King has a 3-D version in that trilogy boxset.

$75 buckaroos. I guess that's to be expected, though.

I do love this movie. Just saw it a couple weeks ago in theaters.

But it doesn't stack up to a Menken Disney movie. Not for me, at least.

The Lion King had a limited release in North America on June 15, 1994, and then a wide release on June 24, 1994. During the weekend June 17-19, it was playing in only two theaters from which it earned $1,586,753 for a per theater average of $793,377. This is the largest per theater average ever achieved during a weekend

The Lion King and Home Alone are the only movies I've watched where the theatres were so full people had to sit down on the floor to watch the movie. I felt bad for the people who were stuck in the front. There wasn't any leaving to use the restroom, because you couldn't get out.

I believe I remember people being able to smoke in them as well, or maybe it was just Home Alone. Either way I am glad no fires got started, because a lot of people would have been trampled to death or died from fire related shit.

The most crowded theater I was ever in is probably a toss-up between Dark Knight IMAX, or X2.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a Disney movie in theaters except Toy Story 3

I rarely go see movies on opening weekends. I remember a line out the door for tickets to Spider-Man 3 and when I went to see The Mummy the only 2 seats that were left were in the front and to the right of the screen.

  • Macro9Macro9 Registered User regular
Dark Knight was definitely sold out when I watched it in IMAX. I'm guessing back 20 years ago movie theatres didn't stop selling tickets to a showing even when they ran out of seats. Just my experience, though.

Anyone watched this on Blu-ray yet that can comment on the quality of the sequels?

Dark Knight IMAX was crazy packed and I got there an hour or two early

We got tickets for a free screening of 2012 and when we got there the only seats left were in the front row and after about a minute we all wanted to throw up

I remember seeing Star Wars Episode 1 as a teenager on opening day

the theater was less than half full

Maybe everyone around knew it wasn't good
