Is...is it normal to have completely frozen in anticipation of Skyrim? Like...I'm looking at the fuckload of games I own and because I know I've got Skyrim pre-loaded and ready to go, I feel no desire to play any of them. What is this new devilry? :x
This is pretty normal, I felt no desire to play any other shooters in between the beta and BF3's actual release (by which I mean I tried them but my heart wasn't in it).
In my delirium, I (fucking finally) fired up Darksiders after having it rest untouched and laden with dust in my backlog since buying it during summer sale '11. Suffice it to say that now I fully understand why people like this game and Darksiders 2 is officially on my radar.

It's something I frequently struggle with. Like when Renegade Ops took freaking forever to launch, I had Portal 2 sitting there, installed, with no will at all to play it. It's likely to be one of the games of the year, but the want just wasn't there because I REALLY wanted to play Reg Ops, even if it wasn't available.

Good for you! I hope I'll finally get around to actually finishing it, I'm about 9 hours in or something like that. So much fun, especially with a pad
I was staying away from RPG's till Skyrim releases, but that leaves me with other Steam related problems due to gamebank. What do I play? This one? That one? GOd I need to finish this one, but I really was having fun last time I played that one! Guess I'll go watch tv..
Before we head into a new thread, I just want to publicly state I will not be playing Skyrim. I have thus far not enjoyed my time spent in The Elder Scrolls, so I don't see that really changing here.
BUT!
If it turns out to have some sort of amazing narrative that is worth my time, please let me know. So I can file it away under "down the line". The last time I cared about Elder Scrolls was when Ian McCoonville was modding in Lavoss during the Mac Hall days.
Also, you guys were all totally right about sanctum, and dungeon defenders. We've been having a total BLAST. I have totally 180ed on my feelings over tower defense games, at least where co-op is involved.
Goddammit, I just got a new laptop and I can't download steam. I keep getting an error that says "Steam.exe (Main Exception): ERROR: delete of steam.exe failed,Win32 Error 5 'Access is denied' or Steam.exe (main exception): ERROR: deleted Steam.exe but the file is still there"
Any help?
Edit- Never mind, restarting in Safe Mode and installing from there did the trick.
I already own Ben There, Dan That! and Time Gentlemen, Please! so if anybody wants it that isn't getting the bundle just let me know

I love NightSky. It's such a nicely atmospheric and fun game. Little bits of exploration, platforming and puzzling with well done physics. Great music too.

Yeah, I'm with you. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, though, and if the world of Skyrim is more mechanically similar to that than to Oblivion/Morrowind, I would probably enjoy it a lot. I'm also anxiously awaiting impressions, especially from non-hardcore Elder Scrolls fans.
Todays deal: Day of Defeat Source: 75% off ($2.50 down from $10).
Hah, if someone really wants it, I still have a gift copy from the Golden Potato prize pack thing. At this point though, I'm sure most of the Valve products are accounted for.

Gish
Fate of the World
Time Gentlemen, Please/Ben There, Dan That
Two rules:
1) First to PM me gets the game of his or her choice.
2) Pay it forward some way. Buy a down-on-his-luck gamer a Steam gift for Christmas, help an old lady across the street, volunteer at a soup kitchen, or something.

But if I just start playing one the feeling soon abates.
I should probly doing something more constructive with my "I don't feel like playing video games" time though.

Hmm, I see achievements, but I don't see a Cloud icon next to it in my games list.

I think the update hasn't actually been released on Steam yet.

I'd guess that depends on how much you like twin-stick shooters.
Based on the experience I just had, yes.
