I really enjoyed this episode.

Darryl's little survival journey was great and the scene with Rick and Shane in the woods was good too. Plus hey zombies in the barn. Things are about to start moving big time

Andrea does not get a gun. Take it off her. Seriously. She knew Darryl was out there, that he has looked like stepped on shit when he comes back to camp before. She knows firing a gun is an absolute last resort. And Rick lowered his gun, right in front of her. And Dale, everyone was yelling "do not shoot".

But oh no, Andrea got something to prove, better shoot!

I like the way this season is shaping up, I know alot of people are pissed about the sophia arc but they were gonna have to be at this farm for a while, cause i know in the comics they are there for at least 2 weeks or more while carl gets better. I think they did the sophia story to add some dimension to the show and give them a reason to actualy leave the farm and run around etc.

1) Rick's group are told about the barn from Glenn.
2) Some idiot from the group gets the idea of trying to kill the zombies in the barn
3) Barn Zombies escape, panic and calamity falls upon the farm

Somehow 40 minutes of the episode will still be talking

Full episode of Glenn vacillating about whether or not to tell everyone while there continues to be zero progress on finding Sophia. Andrea continues to suck at everything, everyone finally finds out about the barn accidentally at the very end of the episode no thanks to Glenn

This season has a pretty loud faith in god subplot. I'm guessing Sophia will turn up safe and sound, strengthening Herschell's point of view, making everyone else wonder if maybe God is looking after them.

...then a few scenes later someone will get eaten.

The individual episode side stories really are good, and they do a good enough job of distracting me from the plodding main storyline that I keep watching it. Eventually something is going to have to happen though.

Andrea you are so dumb. The truth is going to leak out about Lori some way or another in a big argument, or all the ladies are going to be all "Hmm, throwing up in the mornings, are we?". And why on earth would they keep those zombies alive in that barn, we just know they are going to escape.

To be frank, I grow weary of people bashing the writing when it's a fresh show that appeals to a niche market that hasn't really had a TV Series touching this kind of subject matter.

Just be happy we have a zombie survival show on cable. That's how I feel about it. It's not perfect, but I'll be damned if I don't enjoy it.

The problem is the show is too slow and too predictable, and not enough of the main cast is likable. The best character on the show is the one not from the comics.

I will continue to watch it despite its flaws but I will bitch about them because the show could be a lot better then it is.

it has its flaws, like the writing not being the best in scenes but

compare this to like most any other show on television, hell most drama shows

Apparently, we've been getting free cable because Comcast couldn't be buggered to come out and put a 'trap' on our box. They're switching to digital/HD/something-or-other in January and decided to let us live the delusion of getting all those channel for a reasonable price.

We still haven't lost all the channels we were supposed to, though - that's the weird part.

Since they've been searching for that little girl, 2 people have nearly died, one guy DID die and one guy got laid. And really, since Rick showed up half the group has died. Shane's loyalty to his partner is destroying the group, I can't wait till Shane finally says "You know what Rick? I'm done letting you lead. Since you took charge half our group has died. You keep us in dangerous situations for false hope in a vain effort to appease your conscience. You've tested my loyalty, and I know you tried your best, but it's time for a new direction."


But to be Honest, if I were part of that group I'd stick around the area and continue looking for the girl. Even if to just find her body or zombiefied.

Shane is the best leader for a family. But not a group like what we have.

If it was just Shane, Rick, Lori and Carl, and maybe one other family (Carol, Ed and Sophia like we saw in the intro?) then yeah, Shane should absolutely be in charge. He puts his small little group first, and keeps those few people alive. Shane in charge of the whole group would mean a lot of people getting picked off and left behind, imo.

So Dale should have just let Andrea off herself, somehow though I imagine she would have screwed that up.

I bet the bullet would have exited her head made a 180 degree turn and manage to mortally wound Carl, and yet Andrea manages to be totally fine even with missing half her brain. Also this would have been way more believable than running across a wild deer in the middle of the woods.

I would have enjoyed hell on wheels more if it didn't have a b-grade viggo mortensen "i sold my slaves before the civil war and fought for honor!" confederate cowboy bullshit as the main character, and common had a role to fill other than the token black guy for the idiot confederate cowboy to talk to show how 'progressive' he is. Sure some of the action scenes are visceral, but when the show's plot is as heavy-handed serious (and dumb) as it is, and insists on taking up so much time, i'd rather watch any spaghetti western (or 3:10 to yuma) for my cowboys & injuns fix. The show is really sloppy compared to amc's other stuff.
