I read the main sticky regarding computer builds (amazing post by the way), and I decided to settle on a corsair modular power supply. Before placing an order though, I wanted to voice my current selection to see if I am heading in the right direction.
I'm currently running a very old power supply that I've had for years. It's non-modular, low wattage, and frankly caused an absolute mangled mess on the inside of my case, preventing air flow and making it a nightmare to keep clean.
My setup is somewhat dated, I'm running an AMD Phenom II X4 810 2.60 GHz Processor, on a Gigabyte motherboard with an ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series card. I currently only have 4 gigs of ram in this thing, but may consider upgrading it when and if I decide to swap out my motherboard for something that supports DDR3 (thinking of going Intel).
So after cruising Newegg, I found a couple of options which looked reasonable:
(850 Watt TX)

(750 Watt TX)

Or do I just splurge on this:
(750 Watt AX)

Suggestions?
I have never owned a modular power supply, do I also need to purchase all the extensions or do they come with the supply?

I have an earlier version of those, Corsair hx-620 I think. Which is powering an Intel quad (q6600), 8gb of ram, 6 hard drives and a gtx280 just fine.
The 750 enthusiast would probably be fine, unless you are considering SLI and even then it might be ok.

The TX power supplies are fine, but if you can stretch, get the AX. 7 year warranty woot!
Yeah, I think I'll just splurge and get the 750 AX.
Thanks guys, your input was very helpful. Now, to find a nice aluminum case.......
Hmm.
