And I'm back. Post going up shortly...also ewww, dissolved body.

I'm assuming there's a shower rod, I think I'm going to start with that to pull out the body. If not, just let me know.

Also, Know to neutralize sulfuric acid (1d100=53) vs 75 Pass.

Any issues with trying to find a base to neutralize this stuff? Some baking soda in the kitchen?

Lots of issues! You'd need a ton of baking soda. Like pounds of it. If we could find ammonia on the other hand, that'd work easily.

  • Options
    PeffPeff Registered User regular
Well it doesn't need to be baking soda, just something to neutralize it. Chemistry isn't my strong subject.

It isn't mine either, sadly. Next month is going to be hell. But ammonia if we can find it would definitely work. I'm talking about taking the body or whatever it is out of the goo, putting it on the floor, and pour base over that.

Peff I already rolled for finding stuff in the kitchen but whatever. Feel free to bumble around with the oatmeal while I find goodies/clues : )

    Abomination! Hooray!

Finally, killing things. Although since this is Call of Cthulhu, we will probably end up being the killees instead.

It now occurrs to me my rifle is in the car...with Mason. If we survive this I'm buying a damn pistol. Who wants to see me show off my fancy knife work!

Not looking around, not listening, not doing anything smart. Throwing a jar full of who-knows-what into a grisly freezer does not count as smart.

Look at you getting an Impale against a (probably) inanimate object.

Really. I was going for the "hit the thing with the jar, piss it off so one of us doesn't have to go get their face eaten off looking inside" effect.

    edit- not that I'm complaining!

This is totally not a smart move but let's do this. No one wants to live forever. Also, I'm totally holding the light and knife CQC style like Solid Snake because if I'm going to go out, I might as well look cool doing it.

    Sanity Check, Mr. Peff

  • Options
    PeffPeff Registered User regular
Not sure if I love it or hate it when you say that.

Sanity roll! Appleton basement (1d100=61) vs 24. Uh oh!

I also just noticed I never updated my stat block from the first sanity point I lost (25 initial so 24 before this roll) so whatever I lose here I'll update with the correct value.

I hate to leave things hanging right here, but I'm on a trip and don't have my materials with me at the moment. Narration will resume next Wednesday or Thursday.

Have fun! A slow pace is nice, we've only lost one guy and this is the longest I've played any PBP game.

Luck roll, Appleton basement (1d100=88) vs 90.

And Todt looks in at the creepy old man like an idiot. Will he take a sanity check? Find out next episode!

And man, I really wanted to see what failing that luck roll would do. So close!

Hopefully it is not the roll for "police appear behind gun-toting strangers in front of a corpse in an icebox"

    Combat time!

    1) I will need a sanity roll from all 3 of you as you turn to see what just attacked you.

    2) Order of attacks for the first combat round will be (barring any sanity issues): Rucdoc one shot at half skill % from the pain, then Captain Marcus one shot, then the enemy, Rucdoc again this time at normal %, Peff, and Rucdoc once more at double % for point blank fire. Oh the benefits of a gun with 3 attacks per round!.

    3) Now would be a good time to ask any questions about how combat works.

  • Options
Captain MarcusCaptain Marcus now arrives the hour of actionRegistered User regular
So shooting is basically a skill check?

  • Options
    PsychoLarry1PsychoLarry1 Registered User regular
Yes indeed. There are more variables and such dependent on situation, but it's a skill check based on your rating with the specific weapon.
