I did not experience connection problems with BF3, but it sucks that other people did.
One part of the argument that I do not understand is the whole Origin thing. I guess I just don't care? You don't interface with origin at all. You just log in, and it sits in the corner doing nothing.
I love launching the game through a browser. You go to the site, find a server you want, and hit join. Then, the game loads in the background, while you can go about doing whatever and it lets you know when it's loaded. Then you hit "go to game" and there you are! In the game! You don't go through title screens or clunky game menus or anything, which you have to do even with steam games. It's also already loaded as a window, so alt tabbing out of the game is a breeze.
I don't know, what is not to like with that? Why does anyone really care that the game is not in the Steam box, and is instead in a different box? Does the window from whence you choose your game really, really matter?

Normally I'm on this side of the argument. I don't really care what service I have to run as long as I can play the games I want to play. That said, when the service reserves the right to do a cavity search of your computer, my eyebrows go up.
Also the fact that people have had some issues with EA double or triple charing them for BF3, and then when they call EA to fix it, EA tells them to fuck off and closes their account. People have been having to call banks and reverse charges to get their money back
Wait, have they been making this shit for four years now, or is it being reintroduced?

Gamer Fuel is back after a hiatus following the World of Warcraft run, yeah. And if that wasn't bad enough, it has codes for DOUBLE XP in Modern Warfare 3.

I have a huge problem with having to have Origin, my browser, and battlefield open to run battlefield... And I've got the RAM to spare. I can't imagine for people who don't. Here's my problem. Everything on comp is on steam now, and now they're telling me I've got to have a whole other library because they won't work together... I get some cool stuff for having other EA games... Unfortunately I have them on Steam.
Also having to root around in your registry to fix a game you bought in 2011 is asinine... Also that a broken version of a game works better than EAs version. Basically Origin is just stupid all around IMO. My whole friend ist is on steam, and thanks to peoples ire and fear of that privacy invasion I have no one to play with that I actually know
also food/drinks meant to appeal to gamers are stupid, but I know a lot of people eat that stuff up, both literally and ideologically... That being said, I loved the bawls energy drink when I could get it around still...
origin takes practically 0 memory to run. It sits there doing nothing. Chrome takes almost 0 memory to run, and you don't have to interact with origin at all to play BF3. You can go straight to the website and click "play"
Your argument is basically "I want it to be on steam...because that is where all computer games ever made should be"
I don't know what registry thing you're talking about, I haven't done anything with my computer to run BF3 and have experienced no problems connecting or playing.

I don't know what magical version of Chrome you have, but on my machine the browser itself is using over 100 MB. That isn't counting the tabs, extensions, or plugins like Flash.

I didn't have this problem != no one has this problem. Everything takes memory. EA wants to dig through your files. The party system in the web clien is different from the origin client... You're right I am just being picky about having it on steam...

i want it to be steam because at least Valve actually asks for permission before sending your system data to Valve. also, did you not just watch Checkpoint and learn that EA, once again, is full of shit?

Chrome tabs are routinely the largest aggregate source of RAM usage on my system. Most of this is due to what's running in the tab, not the tab itself, but it's worth noting that web apps have overhead.
