can't sleep, need distractions

I'm gonna level with you here

I am in an awful mood, I'm sick, I've got a lot going through my mind and I don't particularly want to talk about any of it

but I am too upset or contemplative or whatever to sleep, and I need something to take my mind off it

I want to just talk to you guys for a while about any old shit until I feel relaxed enough to get some rest

so I'll get the ball rolling

do you guys dig big ol' over-ear headphones, or the little earbud things?

Both, depending on the situation.

I generally don't use headphones that don't cover my ears at work because I want to block out people talking but I still want to be able to hear when someone knocks on the filing cabinet in my cube trying to get my attention.

Since my Ipod carked itself I generally just use old in ear headphones on my computer.

When I eventually get a new ipod, I will be getting both kinds.

I tripped over the headphones I had attached to my computer and somehow ripped out the headphone jack from the sound card, so I reaaaalllyyy miss the luxury of being able to blast some super-bass right into my ears

Anxiety, I tried to sleep but i freaked the fuck out and now I'm wide awake. So i played some video games, and now I'm tired. But I went to go take a nap and I had another anxiety episode about sleeping in and missing work. Yup. Awesome.

I just got a great pair of razer headphones secondhand and they're great. Apparently (according to the audiophiles over in Moe's) I got lucky as they're one of the few gaming headsets that actually are of decent manufacture and sound quality. So yeah, woo me!

What do you do for a living?

I work in a call centre that services extended warranties on various appliances

I like the work but I always leave so angry at the end of every day for some reason or another

also, people who hang up on you once they start to hear words that sound like things they don't want to hear are probably the stupidest people in the world

you will not achieve anything by disconnecting the call there, idiots!
