I'm not sure if this is a bug related to this topic, but it does seem to be going on in this thread -
The main index shows that the last two new posts (excluding this one) took place in the thread "bonk when trying to view thread" and in the Vanilla Forums Bugs section thread "online glow" by our admin Cardboard Tube (Lewie P's Stepdad). Click on either thread title from the index takes you to an error message saying that the post no longer exists, rather then putting you at the last post of the thread.
This seems to have happened with a lot of CT's posts lately, where I see them in the index, but trying to follow them from there to any specific thread yields an error message.
This is an artifact of PA's unique theme which shows the "last comment by" stuff for categories.
Tube posted in several threads and then deleted his comments, which results in this issue. I assume he was trying to obscure the deleted spam threads that were showing up before.
We're going to code up some stuff to handle this condition.
Posts
for example: http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/103565/dear-robothero/p3 , http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/92764/they-used-to-call-me-anal-girl/p9 , http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/43334/mini-phalla-gerrinius-vii-was-delicious/p2 etc etc
I believe the problem comes about because that account was deleted. It didn't seem to actually be a problem until the online indicator was added.
why yes I did do a google search of "site:forums.penny-arcade.com robothero" to find those
well, I'm guessing that was changed pretty recently too!
Le fixed.
