The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Resolutions of the New Year Variety. What have you already broken?
Hmm. Quitting smoking is number one of the list. A few guys at work are on board so we'll see how we go.
I also want to finish more of my projects at home. I'm forever starting projects and then just getting distracted halfway through. I've promised myself no new projects until the majority of my old projects are either finished or gotten rid of
The good thing about my particular brand of procrastination is that for every 30 projects I dream up, only 1 makes it to the design phase. So far on the list of rambling contemplation:
Buy new house.
Build recording studio.
Soup up a shit car.
Write/record an album.
Learn to draw.
Make an awesome D&D gaming table.
The only thing remotely conceivable on that list is Buy A New House.

I would say not kill my plants (technically seeds) I got for christmas but I need to water them before new years so I think that technically can't be one.
Maybe get fitter. I'd like to lose the extra inch I've put on my waist.
Priority though is to earn a "Distinction" in my classes, which is between a 75 and 84 in terms of assessment grading. I was 3 marks off last semester from one in my chosen specialisation, I feel like I can do even better with just a little extra effort.

real talk: Go to a music store and buy a $50 Ukulele. Something like this is affordable and will be fine to learn on
Uke is so easy to learn and lots of fun to play. Seriously, if you think of a song you like, most of the time, with a little googling or youtubing, you'll be able to learn and play/sing it in a couple of hours.
Help eliminate Mori's credit card debt once and for all (very doable, and we came really close this year - until we had to move and scrounge up an extra month's rent at short notice).
Save some money! (Probably a lot less doable, I hear kids are pretty expensive).
gonna take this bastard head on and punch it in it's stupid face
I had considered starting up a thing here, to see if we had a few people all trying to quit. Maybe we can all try and quit together or something?
I will happily join in just to cheer you guys on if you do this, I'm at a year and two months quit and I still have days when I want to punch a kitten in the face and buy a pack of cigarettes in a rage. To be fair I quit from 2 1/2 packs a day so I guess really I am "doing good" but some days, bleh.
my mom hasnt seen me in a year. She came to visit for the holidays and she called me fat, so I guess I will try and lose weight? that isn't a very fun goal. I should resolve to ride in a hot air balloon or something cool.
Hit up the gym 2-3 times a week
Study for my GMAT (though that will be towards the end of 2012)
Start actually looking to settle down and meet a girl that isn't a hot mess
Start giving a shit about my job (that will probably involve not being on Penny Arcade during work)

Man, my mother only recently stopped doing this to me. The first time she came to America the first thing out of her mouth was not 'hello' but 'well, I see you haven't lost any more weight, yet'
* Get a new job
* Move to Seattle
* Draw more
* Make sure I paint all the minis in my copy of Super Dungeon Explore
* Maintain my current weight [suppose I could lose a bit more, but I'm happy with what I'm at]
Oh man, yeah 2 and 1/2 a day must have been a motherfucker. Did you use any pills or anything to help you quit?
I did two months of wellbutrin, which for me this go round was great with helping me quit, awful in terms of I couldn't sleep and I got very irrationally irritable. Like I quit taking wellbutrin because I was seriously worried I was going to hurt a family member or pet in a fit of rage. I also at the time lived with a smoker and now live with two smokers who have a lot of smoker friends so sometimes I know the temptation to go back is just a social thing.
I guess I can put some resolutions here too
-get into therapy
-get a second job
-start going to the gym regularly
