Is there a game where one person sets up a base and patrol patterns for officers and then another player goes through there Deus Ex style to get to the objective?
That would be cool in an MMOFPS with corporations and espionage. Set up a corporate campus, design the security system and then players from another corporation pay someone in yours off to maybe relax the security around the entry point and then stealth around to a computer terminal to steal shit.

can the guy who runs the building hire his own players?
and maybe the the enemy corporate guy could provide support of some kind? like the way the commanders in the old Battlefields worked.

I have wanted this exact game forever.
There are mods that come tantalizingly close in concept, but never precisely.
Empire is a Source mod where two enemy commanders see the game as an RTS, while the rest of either team play it as an FPS, drive tanks, capture objectives, etc. Savage works simlarly, and of course Natural Selection has the single Marine commander commanding marines against the horde of individual aliens. All they need is to modify the concept slightly, DM vs. Players style. There is also a source mod called.... Zombie... something. Zombie Master. One player is the "Zombie Master" and sets off zombie traps and controls portions of the level, the rest of the players try to escape.
I just want one good commercial game to play with this concept. Only the indie mod scene has really tackled it. It's a damn shame, really.
they asked me to stop making linkin park references, but in the end, it didn't even matter
You tried so hard, and thought you'd be breaking the habit tonight, but you've set down your points of authority and now you're just planning on crawling in their skin.

In the MMOFPS or in a standalone game? The MMOFPS would let players explore their campus of course, and any breaches of security would alert them to that location, but it would be boring to have players constantly looking for people. The enemy wouldn't have any influence over the campus in a command capacity. The player(s) would be on their own.
I went and saw Thor in the theater but I remember almost nothing from it because the girl I went with had her cellphone out and was constantly texting with all noises, including keyboard taps, turned on

I had my own concept for a game a long time ago. You start out as a building contractor for an evil corporation building bases in foreign tribal territories to exploit the natives' resources. The first levels give you EVERYTHING to play with. It's tutorial and sandbox, and you have access to everything, because your first base will naturally be closest to direct supply. As you get further in, you have fewer resources to work with, being farther away from 'home', so the challenge becomes using your traps and guards and building design most efficiently to stave off attack. On and on until you are betrayed and they try to kill you so that their secret base plans never get out. (It's campy shit, but that's not important, in the realm of a game, it would be fine and make sense.)
The natives save you as you are valuable. You are the only one who knows all the traps, all the designs. They teach you compassion or... whatever. You want revenge. So you go on a "Republic Commando" style vengeance campaign and go backwards through the bases you built. Because of how it played before, your first level will be the easiest, as you start at the weakest base. And you will fight backwards through your own bases til you make it to the epic fortress you first designed.
And all that is tutorial for the real game. Multiplayer.

Right. I'm just trying to clarify for Richy: the federal minimum age is 18, but in some states, that age is higher. (California too.)

Well, if P → Q then we have a choice between ¬P or Q. Certainly we generally want to tax inelastic things in redistribution, so...

I probably just dreamed that.
That movie was p shitty!
Captain America was ten times better.
That's roughly true. And Captain America was nothing special!

Are we just rating these two movies on the amount of time the star spends shirtless?
Because I think by that standard I have to go with Thor.

it was mortifying
