I never played any SH games so I'm kind of iffy on the actual plot
a lot of people who have played the games are iffy on the actual plot
man i hate the fact that they're putting origins on the psp because i'm not gonna buy the thing just for that but the game itself doesn't look that promising anyway
I remember playing the demo of the first game when you were outside of the school. I remember hearing static come on the radio and then a baby came out of nowhere and started walking towards me.
I turned off the Playstation and never touched that disc again.
It's never been explicitly addressed what's "wrong" with the town, but there are hints that even before the town was founded, there was something strange and supernatural about the land itself
It functioned as a normal town until Dahlia Gillespie burned her psychic daughter, Alessa, in hopes of reviving a God that lied dormant inside her
But it all went wrong, and Alessa's psychic residue (for lack of better term) has left the town in the state that we see it today
the lines between this sort of occult, ancient religion which dominated the land before inhabitation by the white man and the later reworking of this religion into an almost "Christian" doctrine make it hard to identify the true source of power, but the generally accepted theory is that there is a hierarchy consisting of three "higher beings" which is the main idea behind the Gods of the town
the nature and truth behind these Gods is a little shaky though
fuck give me some time and i'll try to explain it a little better

I rented the first game and used GameShark codes before I had played it (I was young and brash)
So when I was supposed to be killed, then wake up and have the game actually start, I was unable to die, and as such never figured it out. I never played the game again.

The first part of the first game (with the alleyway and the demon babies) is probably one of the scariest things I've ever played in a survival horror game

I'm proud to say I've never used a gameshark or similar cheat devices

I was so happy they recreated it in the movie
Agreed. That's honestly the first time any video game ever successfully creeped me right the fuck out.
I have a love/hate relationship with those games. Never have finished 2 or 3 because they just plain scare the crap out of me. 4 just felt like a waste of goddamn time.
redeemer where did you hear sh5 would be in a "sunny environment"? did they elaborate on that? and is the whole, flashbacks of a mental patient as the main premise for the next game still just a bullshit rumor?
It's annoying that Christophe Gans keeps saying he'd like to use characters like Claudia and Dr. Kaufman for a sequel since he changed the backstory so much that Claudia and Dr. Kaufman wouldn't make any sense in that universe
sh4 receives a lot of flak from fan boys because it didn't play exactly like the first three games and everyone else because it was admittedly pretty poorly designed in a lot of places
the idea of making you play each level twice was bullshit, i don't care what your premise is
however the story is excellent and the way they worked the creep factor into first person mode was awesome and something i hope to see again

The only redeeming part of the movie is when the woman is trying to leave with the cop, and they get to the bridge and there's a rusty chain-link fence there and the bridge is completely gone.
Then those headless, leg things come down the hillside (not agressively, just wandering like in the game) and spit the shit at them. Then, they run away and they pan up the rocky cliffs and through the fog you can see like 3 or 4 aimlessly wandering around.

Sometimes that shit was flat-out fun, though, haha.

Plus the graphic design and stuff.

But you aren't rolling your eyes :t:
Tell me more
THEY ARE FUCKING ROLLING LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS
I have SH3 on PC and have ported SH1 to my PSP. But I still can't seem to find the time to play them. I should though.
I turned off the Playstation and never touched that disc again.

there's a lot of speculation on that

The second movie, if based on it, had better be better than the first movie was.
Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar

The mental patient thing was total bullshit
The sunny environment stuff I got from here http://www.ggmania.com/?smsid=21239
Bongi said that it would essentially work as a way to subvert the calmness and safeness of being in light, but... I don't know
We'll have to see
I loved SH4's story
The cut scenes are really creepy and epic
Then those headless, leg things come down the hillside (not agressively, just wandering like in the game) and spit the shit at them. Then, they run away and they pan up the rocky cliffs and through the fog you can see like 3 or 4 aimlessly wandering around.
Just perfectly done, like the games.
Sometimes that shit was flat-out fun, though, haha.
I was halfway through #3 before I found out you can turn that shit off.
Agreed there. I treasure my soundtracks.
The stories tend to lose me every once in a while though. Having 20 different endings doesn't help that.
dude WHAT
I'm sorry, but there were some other GREAT goddamn scenes in that flick.
Pyramid-head Purple Nurple fer fucksake!
And the Crispy Cop scene!
Barbed Wire Tampon Action!
Come on!
