One opened up last year and it was very generic. The usual thing of figures, card games of all types but what was werid is they displayed thier comics by publishers not alphabeticly
One I used to go to is a long 30 minute or so drive he sells a lot of silver age comics is his shop suffers from the horder problem
My local one is awesome. They're quite nice, the shop is arranged nicely and does a good job of stocking everything and having back-trades.
They're so clean and bright, too! They even actually have furniture and shelving that's all matching and such, rather than an amalgamation of every bookshelf they could find. And they do a lot of actual event shit, have boardgames out the ass and all. The standard "we slapped up (2) glass cases with figures and cards, (3) shelves of new comics and (20) longboxes" shops are pretty sad generally.
My previous comic shop is still the best, though. It was a tiny trailer on blocks outside of this old Korea/Vietnam vet's house. He was great. Gave a 10% discount for pulls.
Well, you see, after Marten and Padma stopped hooking up, it turned out that Hannelore was headed up to her dad's orbital space station and she got permission to bring two friends! Naturally she brought Marten and Marigold. The space station's AI, imaginatively named Station, embarrassed the security lady you saw in the OP, and gave her stock options to apologize, but only because Hannelore made him.
