I have never read Vaughan's run or indeed any Runaways comic that wasn't a crossover with something that does not induce a boredom-based coma on me.

I don't even dislike the Runaways. I don't even think the premise is bad or anything.

So Ive been a big Cap fan all my life, and read the Brubaker run from #1 - about 30ish. The last one I remember getting was the one that was like, re-numbered #400.

With the hype train rolling on through I went back and picked up AvX #1 and am kinda hooked again. So I went back again, and picked up "Fear Itself: The Deep" 1-4 because I'm a sucker for Namor (loved the Namor mini), and will buy anything featuring Cap, Falcon, Namor, Sharon Carter and that whole squad.

Also, way back my whole comic book life was started with Excalibur - I have the entire run. So I LOVE Captain Britain.

All this was a very long winded way of asking if I should look into Secret Avengers when I go pick up AvX #2 today, because it kinda looks like my dream team but I'm obviously way behind already.

Captain America isn't on the Secret Avengers team right now, but yes, yes, yes you should pick it up. As I understand, they put out a second printing of all of Remender's run, which is 21.1, 22-27. I just got 23 this weekend, which had sold out. Anyway, it's a lot of fun.

Did you ever read Mark Waid's Captain America run? Operation Rebirth was the beginning (why is Amazon not giving a discount on it?)

not even bad! just a completely run-of-the-mill superhero story that in no way distinguished itself

I LOVED Captain Britain and the MI-13. LOVED it. My love of Excalibur also has me anxiously awaiting any time a properly written (by that I mean, written by an actual British guy) Pete Wisdom shows up.

Thanks for the advice everyone, will definately look into Mark Waid's run and go back and pick through secret Avengers.
