I remember joining a game, and when the game started,
I did some pool first build, then tinkered in my base for a bit, then died to a bunker rush.
Then I never played on iccup again. Back to killing the AIs with friends

I have no idea what my apm would be in brood war. I sit around 180-190 apm in sc2 and I imagine it'll be similar - I definitely feel like I'm having to move faster in bw

Alright so my PvZ FFE is seeing some improvement, I'm facing a few golds so fingers crossed I will get promoted in the next season.
Twice now though I have had my shit wrecked by the dude building just SO MANY roaches, and they're 2/2. And I can see them! I have my observer just chilling out. I know they're coming. I try to muster up a big defence but they still overrun me.
I'm guessing gateway units is not the answer, and the 12-13 minute mark is still a bit early for more than one, maybe two colossus. Do I just need to build All The Immortals?
yes three immortals good and also plenty of sentries and stalkers, but also be going for colossus anyway and try to secure your third because he sure as hell is working on getting a fourth while he's throwing roaches at you
As a protoss, I hate getting fast colossus vs zerg now.
What always seems to end up happening now that the game has evolved, is a fast hive, and then they already have a healthy amount of corruptors out for the god damn brood lords.
The pathing is the reason they had to reduce siege tank damage drastically as far as I know.
And well, the lack of arbiters as a way to break/circumvent tanklines, as well as the uselessness of carriers and storm being a shadow of its former self ( also because of clumping).
it's not that the pathing broke seige tanks, its that the aiming AI is a lot better and doesn't over-kill like, at all. In BW if a zergling came into tank range ALL the tanks fired at it. In SC2, only 2 tanks will fire, and the rest will wait for another target. Day[j] has often referred to seige tanks as the most broken unit in SC2 because a mass of them is pretty unapproachable by anything on ground, and if they're surrounded by marines, you can't get them by air either.
But christ, I still have nightmares about bunker/tank pushes in BW... they're so... evil..
the goliath is a great, great unit, suffered from dragoon-itis pretty badly, but they were wonderful, and actually had a better than expected ground attack.
and yeh, marine/medic is a pretty nasty combo, but at least they're all on the ground, and hydras are actually useful against it... plus lurkers. :-)
and the old science vessel voiced by monty burns...
BW had so many "cool units". I don't even know what would qualify as a "cool unit" in sc2... sentries? collosus? banelings?

I haven't played much lately, but Toss is so much more fun for me lately.
That's pretty fucking cool.
I probably would have made a fool of myself

i never finished the WC3 compaign, now I might reinstall that, too.
and with baldur's gate staring at me, ugh
I need to LADDER.
incredibly slowly
but better none the less
it turns out that what i thought was a reasonable number of gateways for three/four bases (ie. 8-10) is actually just about enough for two
protoss needs a silly amount of gateways in this game
i used to play the shit out of enfos and tower defense in high school
hours and hours and hours

hopefully something in the expansion...
Joe's Stream.
For example, the Colossus is cool as hell in concept. A giant walking laser robot? Fuckin awesome.
But in gameplay, boring as fuck.
They really aren't.
on reflection, it might just be GanZi, since he's the one I watch most often.
