    Actually, I never got around to getting it...

    I've played Diablo 1 and 2, but I always felt a little...confined by character choices/classes. Which is why I'll be skipping 3.

    I like being able to make and remake and remake characters to try different things. or spec/respec.

    without hijacking the thread i'd actually suggest you look into the diablo 3 skill system when you have the time, it leans a bit more towards what you seem to desire
    Yeah, Diablo 3 is way different, in terms of skill systems, than Diablo 1 and 2. The only penalty for "respecs" is a short cooldown timer when you switch your skills. It freely encourages experimentation and constructing/deconstructing builds the way you want. Instead of investing a ton of points into a single skill, not knowing whether those skills will benefit you at the endgame, you unlock more and more options for your existing skills, as if you had a build that put 1 point in everything, and all of those skill choices are viable in different contexts.
    My only real complaint that there didn't seem to be a way to hotkey skill changing. Even just being able to click on that skill slot on your toolbar to select another would be a real time/wrist saver.

    I got a cheap 10 buck wireless adapter for my 360 controller and it works flawlessly.

    Safest route is probably the wired controller though. PS3 should work fine but you'll get to mess with some software when running it all the time generally so it can be a small hassle.

    If you get one of the wireless dongles, they're all basically licensed Chinese knockoffs at this point since MS doesn't make them anymore. Some come with driver discs, some don't, but I've heard that even the ones that do the drivers on disc don't work well. I had to go to the MS website and download the latest 360 pad driver for mine. After that though it's worked like a champ. The battery even seems to last a lot longer.

    D3 Hijack: You can right click the skill on the bar to open the skills menu.

    And yeah, I'd just check out games one at a time and buy them slowly.

    My suggestion is to take it slow

    You're better off only buying stuff you really want to play right this second at full price, because the Summer sale is coming soon enough

    To think. I'm a computer guy. I do computery stuff for a living, and I didn't think to right click.
    Also last night while setting up a little old lady's DSL it took forever for the modem to set up the connection because I hadn't plugged the filter into the wall jack completely. This is why we always ask you if it's plugged in. We do it too.

    There was some serious cuteness for the Evochron contest. In the end I'm calling a tie.
    Here are the winning entries:

    @Sir Carcass
    FunCage-cute-baby-animal-11-480x333.jpg
    The way the kitten is looking at the little mouse... you just know it's going to turn bloody in a few moments, for now... SO CUTE.

    @Ashe
    cute-adorable-baby-animals-0102-baby-rabbit1.jpg
    It's a baby bunny going "YAY!" 'Nuff said.

    Friend me on Steam to accept your prizes!

    Wow, thank you! Much appreciated, and thanks for the contest. Glad you liked the intolerably cute baby bunny. I was incredibly tempted to send a cute crab, but they are harder to find. Also, I think I'm quite rare in finding most crabs cute, due to actually having a Crabarium at home. I dare say most people find 'em ugly. Crabs don't get enough love (apart from in this thread).

    Anyway, I tip my hat to you for the classiness!

    Yeah, take it slow. Steam's legendary summer sale is roughly two months away (last year's began on June 30th) so wait till then to really stock up and just keep an eye out for deals in the meantime.

    Hey guys, been super swamped with work, league of legends and trying to find time to finish Mass Effect 3 (going to try and put it to bed tonight or tomorrow.. Just getting to Sanctuary, so...) Just needed to pop on here because I entered a contest on steam gifts to win defense grid: awakenings, and got it from Partizanka, and wanted to be sure to mention that he is extremely classy and generous for throwing up a gift of such caliber for us to roll for.. Anyway, will be looking to getting some game time in, and still have a 4 pack of borderlands I haven't cracked that I think will be my entry to a hardcore gaming May-haps... We shall see.

    As someone who played it on the 360, let me just say that Dead Space is amazing. RE4 is a pretty accurate comparison, but it also greatly improves on the controls. And it takes itself much more seriously.

    Just be sure to follow the tech advice of other people earlier in the thread since it apparently doesn't behave very well on PC without a few tweaks.

    This is weird and shitty. Last night my own computer broke and I'm using my mom's right now. I installed Steam on it and it seems to bluescreen while Steam is running. At least she hasn't complained to me about it bluescreening and every time it's done it so far was while Steam was running.

    Freedom Fighters is one of my favorite games from the last generation of consoles. A shame we'll probably never get a real sequel. A lot of people were hyping Kane & Lynch as a spiritual sequel, but that was...not quite right.

    I'm not sure about Torchlight 2. I wasn't a huge fan of Diablo 2 (too repetitive) and this looks like pretty much like a clone of it. That said, I have heard lots of people praise it. What exactly is different and what makes it stand out from countless other D2 clones?

    Oh dear, I missed out on the Christmas sale because I was out of the country and Steam gets picky when you try to buy games from the tropics. This summer I may be in a cabin in the woods without internet during the sale. #firstworldsteamproblems

    It does look that way. I too am intrigued.

    Totalbiscuit did a quick look on the game and yep, it's pretty much Fantasy Civ 5, even the UI is similar.
