this is the thread about the movie you can see in theaters RIGHT NOW called Bad Ass. well, I guess only the cool theaters. also it debuted on demand on april 13th.
so while you were watching your space die hards and your woods cabins, I was watching a senior citizen get pissed off. also i had a bit of a meltdown and did some drunk confessions and whatever.
the movie stars danny trejo, and there are a lot of bits where it proves that the dude can actually act pretty well. and that he has impeccably fashion sense.
this is the trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nUsUV2yUdY
after seeing this movie thrice (yes, thrice) in the span of 48 hours, I really can't tell you enough how badly you need to see it. it is an
experience.
a lot of people complained about the first trailer being disorienting and not making sense. well, that is because this movie is batshit insane. and is disorienting and doesn't make much sense.
but it's not crazy in the way you'd think. it basically, somehow, takes a very real, fully developed character as well as a very ridiculous caricature and combines them into one thing. every time the flick cuts, you have no idea what to expect.
sometimes it will be a really well developed scene that shows what it's like to be a vietnam vet with no hope.
sometimes it will be an unprovoked fight with the fakest cgi blood you will ever see.
sometimes it will be secondary characters straight from the blaxploitation school of overacting telling you how bad things are.
sometimes it will be a montage of danny trejo putting on old people clothes
and even sometimes it will be danny trejo doing mundane detective work to
aggressive rap music.
it gets to the point where you have no idea what the intention of the movie is. you don't know what scenes are meant to be taken seriously and what scenes are purposely ridiculous. it sometimes feels like every sequence is from a different movie and they were all remade with danny trejo as the lead. it's a pretty crazy ride that I have never experience with another movie.
also there is a scene where danny trejo stops a liquor store robbery so he can get free tequila.

honestly, about on par, maybe slightly better
just because drive angry kept the same crazy tone the entire movie
bad ass has no fucking clue what tone it wants
Is this the sort of movie my kids will enjoy?
you can rent it at the playstation store or maybe xbox live/zune
but it is also ON DEMAND
and in theaters as well because INDIE FILM
yes
anti you ain't gotta trust me for much, but this is my domain
I love Nic Cage and I love Drive Angry. This movie actually outcrazies it.
no it is about being a badass and the word badass is used a hojillion times throughout
better, but not as crazy as the black gestapo
get out
machete rules
he just puts on clothes and says words
he is always in a state of being danny trejo

Now I have to go to the theater again
that is what the aggressive rap song is about, buttlord
how tough and awesome danny trejo is
as he looks for clues
pfff you let me know when it's gangsta rap about burning down zoos and beating women with golf clubs
He doesn't act
Acting is work
What he does is all autobiographical, from the heart, no acting
And I don't trust opinions of somebody who doesn't show Trejo the proper respect he deserves and has earned

Ummm..I'm a good work...guy?
because he is a large hispanic man with a large quantity of tattoos and there are certain movies that require someone who fits these criteria to do nothing more than put on an outfit and repeat some words
it is more surprising than how good jean claude van damme was in jcvd
He's a shitty actor that internet types have latched onto because he's just so awesome man.
For the sequel to Machete, Machete Kills
Mel Gibson tried out for, and is really close to getting, a role, I think (don't yell at me if it's not what he gets if he makes it!) as the main villain
Steam
octavio is nothing compared to frank vega
