i am crying with frustration because my damn cat won't poop.
been feeding her pumpkin, got Laxatone from the vet (went over like a lead balloon) -- switched out for Vaseline, attempted and failed at glycerin suppository. i'm going to try some Metamucil on her tonight, and she's still acting normally: playful, snuggly, doesn't seem in pain, eating, lets me pick her up and touch her abdomen. i guess she also hasn't puked in two days, so cold comfort.
i just feel like i'm failing her, and i don't want it to get worse. but a week of not pooping (except at the vet's on Saturday, because he did stuff) is still fretful enough. abloo

Both your dog and your friend's puppy are pretty freakin' cute.

One of the dogs at work was hit by a train on Friday, we found out this morning. His owner still came into work, but it's kinda gutting seeing his usual spot in his owners tractor empty.
His name was Harry, and he was a fat little beagle hound.
anyone use a pet fountain? i'm wanting to get something ceramic, easy to clean/maintain, and (less likely) inexpensive.
it looks like i can at least fulfill the first two with something from these guys, but ow my wallet. it seems like it'd be costly for the initial outlay, but cheaper in the long run since the filter needs changing less often, and it's just charcoal that i could easily get at a pet store, instead of a proprietary one. plus, they're pretty; i am a sucker for wheel-thrown pottery.
basically, i'm trying to talk myself into it, since it does seem like it's high quality, durable, American crafter-made -- i just rarely spend money in big chunks like that.
