Alright, so I love dogs. Ever since my last pupchild, Rascal, died last year I have wanted a new dog. For financial reasons (and also the fact that my health wasn't great), I held off getting a dog until after I passed the bar. Then I lost the job and hospital again yadda yadda. Cut to now: moving back in with my parents, so no pet fees and such.
So I am getting a dog! Gonna go see it on Saturday and then pick it up if all goes well!
I knew I wanted a small, indoors dog that had hair instead of fur.
My options included a Yorkshire Terrier:
Which I passed on because they are yippy little dogs.
I considered getting a Havanese
And really, the only reason why I didn't get one was because we found a Shiz-Tsu that was a few weeks old.
That's not my dog there, just an approximation of what a Shih-Tzu looks like when it isn't hussied up like a tramp.
So let's talk about our dogs and our favorite dog breeds.

I need to figure out a name for my dog. I was thinking about Tarkin (as in: Grand Bark Tarkin) but it's just not a great dog name.
I'm thinking maybe Vimes, after Samuel Vimes of the Night Watch.

I was trying to photograph Sadie now that's about a year old, partly for this thread and also to take with me when I'm away for the summer. She is a pain in the ass to photograph. Hyperactive as shit, constantly moving, plus I think she was afraid of my camera, even though there was no flash. I'd get her face into frame, she'd look at it, then before I could actually snap the photo she'd turn around and walk away.
Then my batteries died and I can't even upload them to my computer to see if any turned out okay until I charge them up after work tonight. So maybe theoretically there'll be one or two in there that I can use which I'll post here.

So yesterday I attempted a little experiment with my 6month old puppy. I had bought a cheap inflatable pool for like 4 bucks and wanted to let him play around in the water to get used to it before the summer when I'll take him fishing with me or to a dog friendly place with a pool.
So I set it up, filled it with some water, and it was serious business for like 2 hours. In the pool...out of the pool...sniff the pool...get out of the pool...contemplate experience...try again.
He honestly had more fun with the sprinkler head on the hose I used to fill the thing up. Still, he's not afraid of water and went right in like nothing, so it was a good start.
