Starforge: Dude, you got Halo in my Minecraft.
Posts
apparently its this guy doing it, you can email him on sworin@codehatch.com but he is having to do them one by one (transfer the igg accounts to the sf accounts)
also playing on the demo valley thing it is funny how if you fall all the way to the floor you die, but you can run all the way down the side and not die but look ridiculous
Origin: Broncbuster
Some thoughts: the wind on mic noise while atmospheric, is pretty annoying, as its the main sound effect you will hear.
Placing blocks seems a little hit and miss. Seems to be left mouse to place block inside something, right mouse to extrude from a surface. To remove blocks I found you need to swap to a spare slot and then press e to activate it. I don't know if its a limitation of the demo but I couldn't tunnel or generate holes in the landscape at all.
The movement controls mean you need to make single space tubes to go up levels successfully, as otherwise you will just parkour nonsensically. Seems like the parkour options should be hidden behind a modifier or a skill or something, as I don't see the need to parkour as much as I see the need to just get up to the top of my building to do something.
Also what is with open world games and weird penis monsters?
They have now posted their stretch goals http://www.starforge.com/goals
Liquids, watercraft and space ships interest me. I hope they make 500k
By the way, I tried playing the game - full version - and I'm able to place one block, but after that I can't place any more segments, what am I doing wrong?
are you first crafting the blocks and putting them in one of your use slots? sounds like you are only moving a single block to your use slots. I think you can move a whole stack of blocks by using the other mouse button to move them
Thanks.
New blogpost!
Improved movement AMD parcour. Hopefully a video by the end of the week. They allready met their goal! It's all about the stretch goals now!
Minecraft nick : aneroi
you say that, but when I made that post yesterday they were at 96k and just now when I checked they are at 102k. 6k a day isn't exactly stalling, at that rate they'll hit 150k before the end.
When I made my post they where at 96.6k and then they got
5/6k i a few hours.
I wouldnt make a good wall street trader
and in the 7 hours since i made THAT post, they're up to nearly 105k.
New video!
Steam has it on sale for $10, but it seems like development has been really slow.
The issue with games that are Alpha builds is that I tend to get them and play them as if they were the completed version (play them to beat them 100%) and I get burned out on the content, with each update I lose more and more interest in the game because it really is more of the same and the game has lost its appeal.
What I'm doing with starforge is letting it get beefed up with a large number of updates before I purchase/play it, to me I feel a game like this which has a small dev team and huuuuuge goals is best to sit on and not play till the community starts going all in with mods and improvements as well as the devs start rolling out some larger additions to the game.
As is it's worth buying and dicking around with but not getting to serious with so you don't burn yourself out, personally I'm waiting for the winter sale to pick it up and using this sale as a baseline on both development and price (once it goes on sale on steam it will go on sale again.)
