This logo gets to stay, mostly because it was originally meant to make fun of stupid, reactionary people.
The new patch is dropping right now, you can go and read up on it over
here.
Or here, if you're at work or something
Err, check the next post, OP is too long
There are some pretty significant changes to how the end game stuff plays out. In addition to making the difficulty spikes between later acts a little less intense, bosses will now only drop one guaranteed rare when you have 5 stacks of Nephalem Valour (a buff that builds up every time you kill a champion or rare monster at level 60, which increases Magic and Gold find). Yoo compensate, regular champ/rare packs will also be dropping a guaranteed rare at 5 stacks as well. This is to encourage the original intent of the NV system, getting people to run through large parts of the game in one go, and not run one short second ad-infinitum.
But lets be honest, the real reason you want to play is because you can PUNCH the SKELETONS out of THINGS. Do you really need to know anything else about this game? Other options include throwing snakes at people's faces, giant bears, becoming a living embodiment of magic, and summoning those 3 guys you beat up all time in the last game!
This could be YOU
And now, because I'm lazy, I'm going to press ctrl+c, then ctrl+v:
Oh my god you guys!!! Totally legit item dupe trick courtesy of
@Rolo! Click the spoilers to download some megahertz and hack the Gibson!
yo guys you know there's an easy method for duping in D3 already, right?
check out this exploit:
1) roll up a new character -IT HAS TO BE A BARBARIAN - and GIVE HIM A UNIQUE NAME - this is important so blizzard cannot track/ban you - you cannot use the same name with different variations like dupe_01 and dupe_02, they are able to spot this and will delete your account!
2)start a new game (normal difficulty) with your character - make sure it is set to PRIVATE - blizzard disguises "spy" players into games just to catch people using this exploit, it is THAT powerful!
3) continue through the first gate and into new tristram - you'll have to fight the zombies and get inside the gate every time (difficult but possible) from there find your STASH
4) take your low quality axe and put it into the stash - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART DUPE WILL NOT WORK IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS!!! - make sure to close the axe carefully and then WAIT 10 FULL SECONDS to make sure that lag is not a factor
5) exit the server, DELETE YOUR CHARACTER - this will free up character slots for later and make your game load faster
6) then exit the game back into Windows - then shut down your pc, then unplug your modem/router - an absolute must so that blizzard cannot track your IP location and send in their swat teams
7) wait up to one full day then re-connect everything
8) next time you log into the game you must make a NEW barbarian - start in act 1 again as in steps 1-4 and follow them exactly - YOU WILL STILL HAVE YOUR PREVIOUS LOW QUALITY AXE IN YOUR STASH!!!! ITEM DUPED
9) you can repeat these steps as often as you needed for an infinite supply of items that you can trade for mega $$$ or cash out on them in the RMAH whenever b£izz gets off their lazy ass and fixes the game
make sure not to tell anyone about this DUPE TECHNIQUE - do not post it in ANY forums where official blizzard reps might be reading - yu never know where they could be !!
Don't want to get banned your exploits, leet though they may be?
Try running through
Whimesyshire a few times, here's how to get there:
The first ingredient is the Black Mushroom, an item that spawns in the Cathedral Level 1 in Act 1. Take the Waypoint to the Cathedral Garden and head inside. In a random room, you’ll find some large mushrooms sprouting up in the middle of the floor. Click them, and the first step is done.
Also in Act 1, Leoric Shinbone is right inside of Leoric’s Manor (because, naturally, there's where a skeleton king would leave his bones around). Swing inside and look for a fireplace – if you can use the logs inside, they’ll drop his shinbone. If not, reload and try again.
This ingredient brings you to Act 2. Head to the Waypoint “Path to the Oasis” and go straight down and hug the bottom wall. There’s a cove to the south with a shack, and there’s a small chance there will be a man there. Its also possible he's in the other cove, which is near the dahlgur oasis waypoint. If he’s not there, reload the game. If he is, save him from an attack event and he’ll let you into the Mysterious Cave. Inside the Mysterious Cave there is a chance that you’ll find a Mysterious Chest (not to be confused with any other named chests). If you find it, you have rainbow in a bottle. If not, reload and try again.
Head to the Bazaar in Act 2’s main city and wander over to the merchant on the bottom left named Squirt. She’ll sell you Wirt’s Bell for a pricy 100,000 gold. Small price to pay for Whimsyshire, though.
Load up Act 3 and head to the Fields of Slaughter (The Bridge of Korsikk Waypoint is the closest). Go straight up to the area and look for the Caverns of Frost – if there’s another cave in this area reload and try again. Inside there will be a typical assortment of enemies, but the Gibbering Gemstone drops off a random Rare (yellow-named) Chiltara, so keep an eye out for it since it’ll have a white name when it drops, making it easy to mistake for junk loot.
Izual in Act 4 has a chance to drop this. That’s it, no tricks, no frills, just keep killing him. We’ve seen it drop on the first try, and we’ve seen it drop on the 20th. Just get grinding.
Once you have everything head to the Artisan and right click on the recipe. If you have everything in your inventory and 50,000 more gold, click the Craft button and you’re the proud owner of the Staff of Herding... on Normal. To get the harder difficulty recipes you'll need to beat Nightmare or Hell, and then make a game at the last checkpoint in that mode. Go to the trainer near the companions and he'll sell you the recipe, which costs 200k (Nightmare) or 500k (Hell) to assemble.
The description for the staff says that “Only one bovine in all of Sanctuary could possibly have a use for this,” and that bovine’s skeleton is in Act 1. Head to The Old Ruins and go south on Old Tristram road until you see a cow’s skeleton. Approach and you’ll meet the Ghost of the Cow King (which we all know isn’t canon, since NO ONE actually killed the Cow King). He’ll throw out some horrid cow-themed puns before opening the door to…

not excited to see how much my dps is going to be hit by the attack speed nerf though.
but it's a major patch, so expect extended, I predict 6 EST
Never. It will never be back up. Or 2.5 hours from now. There's really no telling.

To prevent monsters from being unintentionally kited into town from other areas of the game, portals have been placed at both ends of the bridge from New Tristram to The Weeping Hollow. Towns have always been intended to be a safe haven from combat, and this change will help keep the denizens of New Tristram safe from the dangers that lurk beyond its walls.

Repair costs have been increased for item levels between 53 and 63
Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses
The item quality of all components needed to craft the Staff of Herding, as well as the Staff of Herding itself, have been changed from Common to Legendary (i.e. their item names will appear orange in color)
The Staff of Herding can no longer be salvaged or dropped
Crafted items that are dropped on the ground due to a player’s inventory being full can no longer be seen or picked up by other players

Crowd Control Reduction from items and skills will now reduce the percentage value of Slow, Chill, and Attack Speed debuffs rather than reducing how long the debuff lasts
For example: previously, if you were debuffed by a 60% slow that lasted for 2 seconds while wearing gear that provides 20% Crowd Control Reduction, your movement speed would be reduced by 60%, but only for 1.6 seconds. Now, the same amount of Crowd Control Reduction will reduce the Slow effect to 48%, but the effect will remain for the full 2 second duration.
Manticore now has one additional bonus affix

Tooltips for items on the ground will now show comparison stats
Resist values will now be taken into effect when calculating the Protection comparison stat (the Protection value is an average protection estimate of all your resists)
When comparing a two-handed weapon against two currently-equipped one-handed weapons, the game will now simulate the removal of both one-handed weapons (instead of simply removing the main-hand weapon, which resulted in an inaccurate comparison)
When selling items to a vendor, the most recently sold items will now always display at the bottom of the Buyback tab
Bug Fixes
Items level 50 and above will now display their item level in the tooltip
Damage Over Time (DoT) skills will now properly benefit from items with the +Critical Chance affix
Legendary items with the +Attack Speed bonus will now correctly provide a bonus to attack speed
Please note that this fix will only affect new Legendary drops. Existing Legendary items will be addressed in future patch.
Players wearing +Life on Kill items should no longer receive a benefit from this affix when "killing" friendly monsters (e.g. when a witch doctor re-summons a Spider Queen while another Spider Queen is still active)
Fixed a bug with linking items with socketed gems in chat
Fixed a bug where vendors would occasionally not have any items for sale
Fixed a bug where selling more than 12 items to a vendor and then buying back 1 of those items could cause multiple items to disappear from the Buyback tab
Fixed a bug where swapping a 1-slot item (i.e. a ring) with 2-slot item (i.e. a weapon) in the second or third tab of a player’s stash would sometimes cause the 2-slot item to be filtered incorrectly to the first tab

D3: Cymril#1411 || League of Legends/Steam/Xbox/Origin: Cymril
Warrior's Rest was the first place I stopped and hit for a while (Pre-60/NV) in Hell I believe.

Also they're steeping up the prices for repairs?? Sheesh. This game will be unplayable to me beyond a certain level.

When it mentioned Morlu guys, is that the incinerators or the warrior guys or both? the warriors aren't a big deal but the incinerators are kind of ridiculous with certain affixes
I guess it would have worked?
I expect we'll start seeing prices drop soon, which is good, because it was getting fucking absurd with weapons. Weapons that would've sold for a million a few weeks after release are now 20+.
it's scheduled to be back: whenever, or maybe right now, or possibly sometime later on.
Also, finally got to inferno.....and got slaughtered by the sick people in the inn.....guess they weren't kidding about the game becoming harder.
WoW
Dear Satan.....
well there's 15% on auctions, and gem combine costs over flawless square
all I can think of
I don't think that build was ever very good, you would have shit for damage stacking that much life, even with infinirage
Seriously though. I have maybe 50k right now. The first week or so is going to be a bit of adjustment and slinking back to Butcher runs. While the people who corpse hopped or whatever to lovely Act 3 farming and are sitting on hojillions of gold probably won't notice that much. At least they made higher Ilvl gear drop pre-3.
also once people got to hell and inferno and square/flawless square start dropping literally like candy
blacksmith was never actually worth shit unless you got some amazing plans, being completely unable to influence what he produces makes it an incredibly frustrating crapshoot, even at reduced cost it could take dozens of tries and thousands of gold to get something worth settling for, let alone one with what you wanted
37 barb, maybe ten fifteen minutes into act 2 nm
Clearly it was super overpowered or they wouldn't have nerfed it
And now nobody can prove me wrong, so there!
for real i've been clutching on some pages and shit gems waiting for the cost to drop
Yep for my butcher runs , I usually get them done in about 17minutes.
I start festering woods for 2 stacks guaranteed from the orb locations which are right next to the warp. If I get lucky I find a wandering elite near by too. Then I tp to the halls of agony, another easy stack is from cultists. If you find a group of cultist, the 3 cultist chanting around 1 in the middle of them, don't kill them right away. Let them finish their chant to power up the middle cultist, takes something like 10 seconds. The middle cultist turns into a blue elite mob, so you get a stack and loot without having to fight 3/4 elite blues.
Then I get two from the prison right before warden and rush to butcher after that. Really easy farming run, which i might go back to if they drop i63 loot there now.
Steam
thanks jerks!
Oh this is a good tip, I usually just rip those groups apart because that is what you do to cultists
but I will have to try this

I'm in the dark here, people!
I went from 44k dps to 30k.
this really sucks
I liked being able to attack super fast
2.19 attack speed down to 1.83
Steam
AH is down though, so it'll have to wait. Gunna check out how the new Act 2 inferno is.
- weapon racks no longer drop anything ever.
- chests and treasure goblins have been removed from the game.
- destructible items now explode for (playerhealth)+1 damage, with Infinity range.
- repair costs must now be paid in Real Currency.
- regular monsters no longer drop gold or items or xp.
- elite monsters no longer drop gold and only drop 1 Common quality item or lower.
- bosses now enrage after 5 seconds, no longer drop gold or items, and have a 50% chance to take an item from your character.
Enjoy!
this is dumb
you're silly
you haven't even tried the changes yet to see how much they affect you.
