If anyone was in a gifting mood and wanted to hook me up with Metro 2033 I would love them for at least a week or longer.

I can't wait to have money for the winter sale so I can buy for people. Stupid car needing fixed this week.

Metro 2033 is a super unique game. It's also super eastern european so it's kinda janky

Also nothing like the book except for the backdrop and a few story details

Oh man, Dear Esther. Tempting, but I got Prince of Persia last night when I really shouldn't have. That's gotta be my last game, even for 2.50. Dear Esther is supposed to be gorgeous but will just have to wait for another sale. That Indie Bundle is also nice, with that Ys game and Gemini Rue. People should definitely get that, even if action rpgs aren't your thing, Gemini Rue is supposed to be very good.

I should get around to finishing Fable 2 sometime. Got it at a whim with my new 360 last august and never got very far. I loved the first game and the second one plays even better but it's not... it's not a very good looking game. Could have really done with even a little bit of anti aliasing, and also spell effects which don't have obvious and horrible big blocks of pixel in the middle of them.

Oh, I'm not gonna get it, I already have it for 360. I was just questioning why you can get Fable 3 itself or Fable 3 and all the DLC and Fable 1 for the same price.

The Shogun DLC can be worth it, but the secret is to never play campaigns unless you are some sort of Time Wizard. Multiplayer battles are great fun though.

Space Asshole is a great game but it does that thing that open world games older than 2 years do where you have no checkpoints in a mission. So if you die, you have to redo the whole mission. Everything. Up to and including any driving that might be required to get to the destination. If that doesn't bother you, pick it up. There's a lot of fun in it, and I haven't even gotten very far in it.

Also, Witcher 2 is really fun you guys. I guess they must have done a good job fixing the early game issues with Enhanced Edition 'cause I'm not having the same combat problems most people seemed to. It's really responsive and just generally fun to mess dudes up with swords.

Really my only complaint is that the spell choosing and meditation menu is oddly unresponsive. You have to wait half a second before choosing anything. This might be a thing with the gamepad though, as I've chosen it over keyboard/mouse.

I liked Fable III alright. It wasn't the best game but it's worth playing.

Eh, maybe. I haven't finished it. The story seems OK, but gameplay-wise it's like they consciously took things that were good about Fable 2 and made them terrible, while simultaneously adding the horrible "hub" area that you had to go to any time you wanted to check, change, or upgrade equipment, plus any other essential game function that should have been accessed from a pause menu or an inventory screen.

Yeah some of the missions are frustrating. Especially any of the rescue missions where you have to keep other rebels alive.

Like, the whole game is based around causing as much damage as possible, and now I have to barge into this EDF-controlled building and rescue these dudes AND get them out alive, all without bringing the walls down around their ears. Gah!

While the hub area was a nice addition it definitely shouldn't have replaced the convenience of a pause menu. Building decay was also a terrible, terrible thing. Overall I enjoyed it but not to the extent that I loved Fable 1 and 2

No, the hub area was terrible! I mean, yeah give me a "home" to go back to and see my costumes on mannequins and whatnot, fine, but to make it the menu? So I have to go there every time, just to make everything take twice as long? Poop.

Ugh yeah, the real estate decay. Basically, someone figured that becoming a magnate in Fable 2 was too easy and eventually inconsequential because you had ALL the money and nowhere to spend it. So their solution was to make your buildings constantly decay so that you have to keep revisiting them all manually and pumping money into them to get them back to 100%.

I totally agree on it not replacing the menu, that was a shitty move that really broke the pace of the game but if it was easily accessible as, you say, "home base" that would've been just fine, otherwise it's implementation was jarring.

Yeah a lot of Fable 3's decisions were weirdly backwards

I liked the character interaction stuff in Fable 2 and if I remember right it was mostly dumped in 3.

They basically changed it so you have a "nice" and a "rude" button when you run up to someone. And to initiate an emote, you have to hold the button for a few seconds, because taking more time to do everything is always great. Then, the "nice" or "rude" emotes would just cycle around through the ones you have available, you can't choose which ones you want to use.

My favorite rescue mission in RFG was when I came in on a jeep, jumped a ramp, and crashed right into the building where the hostages were. Also I killed the hostages.

if anyone's debating on the current Indie Bundle, Tiny Bang Story is a super-cute, relaxing point-and-click with a great soundtrack; i've played the ios demo version, and it's just lush and slightly cartoon-looking -- a good mix of silly and challenging puzzle design. not much replay value, but worth it at this price (bundled or $2.50.)

Audiosurf takes up 45% of my game time, on that Steam analysis thinger. if you like rhythm games, you'll probably enjoy it -- it's a puzzle/rhythm/not really-racer that uses music you provide to create the track. different modes and easy to mod, it has as much replay value as your music library (also has free songs on the 'radio'.) tons of videos on youtube of the various modes.
