Slivers started showing up right around the time I stopped being interested in Magic, so refresh my memory. What's their deal again?
Tribal (creature) synergy. All Slivers buff other slivers in some way, a typical cheap Sliver might give all other friendly slivers +1/+1, a more expensive one migth give hexproof/flying/trample.
Do they sell physical versions of the decks in Planeswalkers games? Seems like an easy branding thing, I'd probably buy one of those if I was moving into the physical game because I was familiar with it.
I will also grab it on my android as they are releasing it there, also, this time around. Fantastic!
“The Magic: The Gathering Duels of the Planeswalkers franchise has been engaging and exciting gamers since we launched in 2009 and continues to be the best way for new players to learn how to play Magic,” said Magic executive producer Worth Wollpert. “This year, with the addition of a fifth platform – Android – along with new features and a more focused integration between online and offline play, we continue to deliver a best-in-class gaming experience.”
I hope they change it up a bit so it doesn't take so long to load each duel. That loading time was the real frustrating part of DOTP. It shouldn't take longer to load each match than to shuffle a deck!
Hi! I wanted to provide further explanation on how the Sealed Campaign will work in Magic 2014 – Duels of the Planeswalkers:
The game will come with two available slots for players to start Sealed Campaigns. These slots will keep all the deck edits and additions you make, plus your progress though the Sealed Deck Campaign. If you’d like to save more than two Sealed Decks, additional slots can be purchased for $1.99 each, and each slot will give you access to a different pool of cards and allows you to unlock different boosters. All Booster Packs use cards from a 180+ card “set” that’s unique to the game. To begin a Campaign, players will pick an open slot and get six 14-card Booster Packs to open. Players are then taken to the Deck Editor so they can create a 40-card Sealed Deck out of the 84 card pool they’ve opened (plus Basic Lands).
When finished creating a deck, players can then battle their way through the Sealed Deck Campaign in order to unlock an additional three Booster Packs along the way. At the end of the Campaign there will be a boss fight where the player will play to defeat another Sealed Deck. You can also use your Sealed Decks to play against other players.
Geth seems to have interest on Sealed.

I was actually wondering if I was going to just sit this version out. I mean there's only so much you can play with set decks before it becomes boring.
They insured I'd be picking up this version. Any word on if the android version will have it's own matchmaking servers or if it'll share them with the ios and maybe PC version?
Mostly just huntin' monsters.

I enjoyed playing 2013 on an iPad, but honestly, I'm much more excited about the Android version because it means I should be able to play it on my Nexus phone. I actually really liked playing against the computer opponents, and the limited decks don't bother me (I played for real until 2002, and find the wild and wooly card environment overwhelming for someone who just wants to play for fun). The sealed option seems like it'll keep it interesting for those who want more than the deck + 15 option they've offered before.
One question: what do you mean by "additional slots can be purchased for $1.99 each, and each slot will give you access to a different pool of cards and allows you to unlock different boosters" ? It means that there are cards beyond this 180+ card “set” or that complete set is not available unless you buy all the slots?
It means you'll open 6 new Booster Packs and begin a new Sealed Campaign with it. Those cards will be different from your other slot's Sealed pool because of the randomized nature of Booster Packs, but it's all taken from the same 180+ set of cards.

From the WotC forums:
Other options seem to be "Chant of Mul Daya" and "Enter the Dracomancer". The latter one makes think Sarkhan Vol might be back for this version.
I'll update the OP at another time.

You know what would be great, if they added red to it. Grixis/UBR baby. I miss the Nicol Bolas deck from the first game.

DotP is all about exposing new people to the game.
Exposing those people to Slivers is like inventing Diet Crack.

Rumors indicate it might be an Ajani deck. He might have kitsune friends.

I stopped playing after my first FNM win. It only took me one year.
I think I'll be sticking with DotP.

TB has a video from PAX so it doesn't to be new stuff. I'm at work right now so I'll watch it later.

It looks like you can delete a sealed pool and start a new campaign with a new pool.

I can't find the post in the WotC forums but it can be resetted. You can buy extra slots for Limited.

Also, a card for the core set 2014 us shown at the end.
Archangel of Thune
Cost - 3WW
Flying, Lifelink
Whenever you gain, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
I don't remember the names of the revealed stuff but the card gives me an Elspeth deck vibe.
