Evo is over, zip up your pants

You know one thing I've been wondering is if they're going to start having a second EVO or something. Like EVO east or the like.
This tourney was delayed multiple times due to fire hazards and I only see it getting bigger.
East coast already has multiple substantial tournaments that draw national and international players. Evo draws huge because they positioned themselves as national finals. You can't really split it up; it's not a web comic convention. You can't really demote Evo to equal among multiple bowls and have anyone be satisfied with the outcome. If the scene keeps expanding, I think the most logical choice would be to require at least one seed point for registration.
Knob, roughly how much did you spend this weekend?
like plane ticket, hotel room, food, etc.?
I'll actually be gainfully employed over the next year so I should actually be able to save up some cash.
my stuff was kinda skewed because I was feeding other people and didn't have the ideal room split
But for an estimate, say 3-400 flight, under 200 for room if you split 4 ways
Do not eat on the strip or you will spend at least 500 on food for the weekend. Pack food, go to the Vegas Walmart and get groceries, or figure out where the in n out burger is.

I wonder if anyone else found SF4 to be one of the most exciting finals because of the level of play even though it wasn't a close score
One of, maybe. But the KOF guys' ability to take one opening and turn it into huge damage gave it a particularly tense excitement. Hadn't played KOF since XI in arcades, hadn't seen XIII in action at all, but that was high level of play and a close score. Marvel's up there too but I ended up disappointed in the final outcome. AE was more just cool to see Infiltration get those ultras in with precise timing, but the excitement was dampened by, most of the time, the outcome not seeming to be in very much doubt.

But that's Evo's whole shtick. Show up, no matter who you are or where you come from, and if you're good enough, you can win. No bullshit or exceptions. Literally anyone is in the position to knock out someone like Daigo or Justin Wong.
The only thing current seeding points gets you is spreading out placement in the bracket. You still have to go through the same number of players as anyone else.
Like, how many international players would have absolutely no chance to gain evo seed points? And Evo's got its own tournament format standards, for good reason, so just throwing seed points at tournies in other countries that don't meet the standard seems like a poor to me. I mean, did either of the SF4 grand finalists have any seed points? For KoF i think Bala probably did, but his opponent from Korea?

Did he scream like a piggy?

evo japan was i think two years ago
it got scrapped because mother nature said FUCK YOU and dropped a wave on 'em. and the nuclear plant pooped itself.
there is plenty of advice to be given on the topic of hitting buttons and the improvement thereof
I will learn you soon enough

yaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
I was gonna be marvelin' momentarily if you're around
Then it's time for fightin' games.
Nah, the delays were because fools were walking up and standing near the front, rather than sitting their ass down in one of the available chairs.
The bigger issue was that passes were sold out. Its not quite at PAX levels yet but it seems like an eventuality. Mo money mo problems
Knob you can't zip up your pants yet we need more Kinderpics
super confusing

I'll be home in an hour and would like to grind.
Amazon frequently has random sales for $25.
edit: Or at least I believe that's how it works.

Or you can get a monstrous double cheeseburger loaded with shit for 3 bucks at in n out
Well there's the Evo Japan thing that didn't happen because of earthquakes. That might come back
gonna take that as a resounding "yes"

's an interesting puzzle though, for sure.
