Every time there's a spec of good news about a video game movie, there's an equal torrent of horrid crap.

For the record, the Mega Man comic series is a FANTASTIC all-ages title that both kids and nostogia fueled adults will get a kick out of. I have been meaning to check out Sonic the Hedgehog (I do love long running comic book series) but have not had a chance. Since Sonic is written by the same guy (Ian Flynn) who does Mega Man, I imagine its pretty good too.

Now... if only Archie could get the Super Mario comic license.... we'd be golden.

Archie comics will always have a special place in my heart, along with Casper, Richie Rich and all those other less popular ones. My parents taught me how to read using those.

That's the Sonic the Comic from the UK that used to be published at the same time. Not the Archie one. Entirely different Stories. Just Sayin'

What's funny is that the comic they've shown is Sonic the Comic, a UK Fleetway publication that was cancelled in 2001. I used to love that thing.

Either way, Sonic/Mega Man is an ace idea. It's just unfortunate I'm neither invested nor would care to get invested in either comic. They haven't particularly grabbed me.

I thought it was a Walking Dead version of Sonic... or is it a Left 4 Dead version of Hello Kitty...

    Creeeeepy!

I know it maybe shocking as anyone over 25 has given up on Sonic, but a lot of kids still play those Sonic games they keep putting out. When I worked at the comic book store we actually had a hard time keeping trades of those Sonic comics in stock because they were one of our best sellers in children's comics.

You can see the background through Paul's shoulders. :-D

When Kathleen pushed Graham away, it looked like there was a light shining up on her arm from beneath.

Is this a normal lighting technique for news anchors, and if not, can I timidly peek under your desk?

I think that AC movie quote was taken out of context. Variety said that the game that the movie is based on features a character who is kidnapped by Templars, etc etc, but not necessarily that Fassbender will play said character or that even the movie will be about that.

@TheAdventurer - Variant did an absolutely stunning Super Mario Bros. comic around . . . probably more than twenty years ago now. Really caught the theme, the feel, and just had a lot of fun writing that stayed in-world (but almost felt Seinfeldian). I was surprised that such a quality product could be made for an art-form (VGs) that was then . . . still very new. It almost felt as if all the animators and writers not only had played the games, but digested the world, and added everything they themselves had on top of it.

Good to hear that Sonic has been receiving comic love all this time. Just because we stop being kids, doesn't mean they aren't being produced elsewhere. :P

There's lights down there every week, it's the underlighting for the back wall.
I don't know that's it's common for lighting actors, but certainly for sets.

Usually people have a bigger studio, so the anchors wouldn't be so close to it, but we're not a big production :D

Casey: It was Valiant, actually (in case anyone decides they want to search for it), the same guys who made Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, and were eventually bought by Acclaim.

Personally, I thought the Mario comics were the worst of the whole Nintendo Comics System. It had its moments, but they seemed to constantly rely on idiot plots with a different idiot in each story... save for the Mushroom King, who was a consistent idiot. Go figure.

But their Zelda, Captain N (believe it or not), Punch-Out!!, and Metroid comics were great.

As for Sonic, besides the kids, it developed a strong fanbase with the cartoons, enough to carry it through the Saturn era, when there were practically no new Sonic games (collections/racing games notwithstanding). If it survived that...

Of course, the comic has become a lot better since a few years ago, thanks to Ian Flynn, and he's now writing the Mega Man comic as well. Both are in very good hands.

On another note: Seeing the background through Paul's glasses is kind of wild/creepy. =D
