i was talking to pascalle about this. gordon ramsay has a new show on FOX called “hotel hell,” which is a lot like “kitchen nightmares,” a personal favorite, except now he is getting mad at the hospitality industry. also, he gets fully nude in every episode. check out any one of them, because i’m not kidding. in “kitchen nightmares” he used to change out of his shirt while talking to us on camera about what’s next. a little fan service. that fan service has gotten kinda out of hand now
the next show, he’s just gonna start nude and say his goodbyes while waggling his junk at the viewing audience
This is 100% gospel FACT
There is a scene in every single god damn episode where Gordon Ramsay gets into the hotel's tub naked, with a blur around his nuts.
I don't like the character designs in monsterkind at all.
How so?

not a big fan of the red clown nose, or the way the glasses look like bulgy eyeballs, or the eyebrows being detached from the face - it just feels like an incongruous mix of styles to use that kind of two-dimensional flatness and exaggeration with the faces when the bodies and backgrounds are drawn in more detail
the facial stylization feels like it would be more appropriate for a KC Green style comic

In Roy's case I think those are his eyes. He's got Muppet Eyes goin on. Big ol' bulgy eyes.
I think. They're not drawn the way other people's glasses are drawn.

EDIT: And I guess I can't really make any sort of substantive statement about the way Enenkay draws Roy, besides saying that I really like it.
The facial design's never really bugged me, and the way she draws him has never seemed any less detailed or simpler than the other aspects of the comic, at least as far as I can tell.
Though I'm a huge fan of Enenkay's style, and I really like all of her designs for the characters, so it's entirely possible that I've got my blinders on a bit.
I think I just spent the last 15 minutes editing that one post, and while I'm satisfied with it, I'm wondering if there's a better way to put all of that.
I like it. It's super stylized, sure, but, you can definitely always tell exactly what mood Roy's in. As for whether it matches the art style of the rest of the art... well, all I can say is that I haven't been distracted by it yet.
This is from a comic called Dicebox (by Jenn Manley Lee), which I can't link because a few pages have nudity/sexual content. Either way, it is really good, and you should read it.

for some odd reason, the art reminds me of Hanna is Not a Boy's Name.
And now I'm sad that HINABN is no longer around.

you have no idea how many times I say I study entomology, the study of insects
"incest?"
"no."
I know what the word means, perhaps people make a joke of it just to be clever. Except, of course, that since a lot of people say that, it's not actually that clever.

if we could excise that small portion and burn the rest down I would be cool with that

Art commentary is hard, guys.
It's hard, and nobody understands.
