The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
For anyone that doesn't know, its a scavenger hunt/knowledge challenge thing. You have to come up with answers based on clues. The answers usually have to do with something here at PAX or gaming. Any help would be nice.
We are stuck on the exact same level. We've been working on it about four hours now and we've exhausted all offers and hunted all through the convention. Please respond so we're not the only ones!
Nothing katamari related works.. Really sucks. We've spent a lot of our convention running around doing this. Sad to feel like it might have been wasted time.
So we are not as awesome as you guys. We are stuck on level 25; it says "her figure is the result of a real life reenactment of weird science". This and the controller picture are the only one that tripped us up for any length of time. If anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated
We are three of the minions behind Dr. Exoskeleton. We love to see and hear about your stories and struggles. We encourage it! One thing that makes us sad is seeing the answers to our puzzles in a public and searchable place during the game. For those who finish we spend our own hard earned money on prizes, and we want to make sure they go to teams that got the answers with hard work and sweat. A hard working minion makes for better soul consumption!
Also, this is a timed competition, and ranking matters. All teams are part of a secret club, and those who win are the elite few.
The best resource for the tough questions are the other 20,000 nerds and geeks walking around PAX. Maybe you will even bump into another team. Our personal favorite story involves a team unknowingly asking Wil Wheaton for help on a question that was about him! That must have been awkward for both of them.
We hope you are all having as much fun playing this as we did making it and watching it unfold!
That's why I only asked for hints, and didn't give any clues as to our trials Dr I agree with keeping the sanctity of the competition, and I assure you we did go up to random people and ask them if they knew anything to help on this question We didn't mean to upset you, and thanks for giving us something to do during the long lines of PAX I wish we had found it on Friday but we are doing our best to catch up! Good luck to the rest of the competitors We see this as just an extension of PAX and didn't mean to bend any rules, our apologizes
We're stuck on one where we know the pictured folks well, but every name and combination of phrase we've come up with has not worked. Frustrating, since it seems very obvious who they are, and what they are from.
Thanks for this game, it's kept us busy all day. Some rather frustrating moments trying to figure out exactly what phrasing is needed for some of these, (then it feels more like a game of "fight the parser") but overall it has been an exciting and fun challenge!
we had fun soliciting help from strangers on a lot of these, even got Jerry to guess a bit on the one we're stuck on now!
Update: finally got that one. Don't really feel like the answer was a good one, but oh well. Moving on, wish us luck!
Hey guys, my group and I have been stuck on a puzzle for awhile that we can't figure out.. yet. We need your help! We, (I) wouldn't mind meeting up at PAX later today to discuss clues.
Dr. wino, can you please please please point us in the right direction? I just want to finish, i don't care about winning lol. And lixy, how goes the quest past "insert ccoin"?
We're heading to the con soon. Stuck on "one pice." I'll keep checking the forum as much as I can for meet ups but the amount of people and levels make my signal drop almost entirely. PM me or look for a curly haired straight bangs redhead with a Kirby mass attack shirt from last year. I don't bite. :3c
Ah, when I posted the "look how dumb I am" response it meant I'd gotten past there. But hey, I just had the pleasure of looking like a crazy person while figuring out "peer through the mystery."
So we are going to be hanging out phone charger booth next to the pax merchandise store. I'm wearing a purple university of Washington Jersey, we still stay there until 11 if anyone wants to join up
!!!!! PLEASE STOP POSTING HINTS AND ANSWERS (and filling in other teams quizzes for them) !!!!!
We send stuff to every team that finishes. That stuff should go to teams that put in the work.
This sort of thing makes it much less fun for us, and we're less likely to do it again in the future. We spend hundreds of hours on this, and we do it for the love.
If you don't win this year, there's always next time, and there's no shame in not completing the game. In fact, playing multiple years is part of the design and should be part of the fun.
We don't want to squash your fun, hope you all understand. Maybe we need to make some changes in the future.

Other than two hints, one before you posted, I don't see alot of people giving out answers. I see more of people coordinating to work on it together, which is what you asked for in the first post.
I think people are having alot of fun. But it is amazingly frustrating to get stuck on a single question and be unable to advance. Especially since some of the questions are very obscure and a couple just don't make sense.
Perhaps have it so you can skip a question and come back to it later and/or have the rankings based on how many are right. Also it would be really cool to see all the questions and answers after everythign is done.
Anyways, I know you guys are having fun, but we want to have fun too. advancing thru the quiz is fun. getting stuck on question 25 (or was it 24, te wierd science one) not so much.
Just some ideas since you asked for some. I hope they help ake it more fun for everyone!
Thanks to the Dr. Exoskeleton team for the game- we ran ourselves ragged for two days, and managed to finish the challenge. (Really didn't think we were going to make it at several points with the really obscure ones... wow, some of those were extremely frustrating!)
This was my first PAX, and I had fun with the game, but pretty much missed the rest of the con because we were working on the puzzles the whole time. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that... heh.
I agree with the suggestion about skipping questions and coming back to them, and the one about random selection. It would also be really nice if a correct answer could have more than one specific way of being entered. We had a couple where we kept putting the right thing in, but because we didn't phrase it -just so-, it didn't work. That was really kind of upsetting. (For example: I entered the full name of a game, and it was the shortened name that was acceptable, but we wasted a lot of time thinking we didn't know the correct answer.)
Anyway, we did enjoy it overall, and I'm glad we got to play.
Hey all, member of Torpedo Vegas here. This was my second PAX and second Exoskeleton hunt! My friends and I have already thanked the Doctor and his Minions, but I'd just like to say, once again, thanks so much for the adventure. It was a crazy time and I got really stressed out on a few occasions, but the relief and adrenaline rush from answering those stress-inducing questions was intense.
I'll agree with the minions in this thread about not posting answers (or even hints) publicly - it's a bit of a downer on the fun.
I'd like to also say that I find the current format to be perfect. It keeps it brain-wrackingly challenging, but still very simple to grasp (i.e., little-to-no explanation needed). It's also probably easier on the Minions for scoring and keeping track.
My only suggestion would be to have a history of the questions used, perhaps paired with our attempted answers to the questions. When it came time to look back on what we'd accomplished (and tell stories), I had trouble recalling some of the questions simply because we were working at such a furious pace.
Anyway, thanks again for the game! PAX is good, but Exoskeleton is awesome. We'll be back next year!
Stay consumed,
Iocaine
P.S.: Which team was it who wished us (two) good luck on the Bioshock related question, nearby the big ol' mural o' faces? I meant to ask! Only curious.
EDIT: Oh, another suggestion! Perhaps a 5-year anniversary PAX Prime meetup/panel? Dying to meet our glorious soul-consuming leader.

Now we're stuck on the book excerpt.
I think you already talked to us this morning I'm one of the people from team red
For the smells like grass question, a hint is that you're looking for an object, not a character. The next question might be the death of me. :P
Still having fun though... We kinda skipped most of PAX yesterday and today for this.
