Here's a few brainstorming ideas:
-social media is huge. Anything to do with Twitter is usually fun.
-public humiliation is definitely an even trade when it comes to trying to earn something free.
-youtube is really funny and is a huge media outlet.
with those in mind. Here's what I came up with:
-having a drag contest
-have people follow you on twitter, then, every now and then, tweet a contest making people come to your booth with a specified item, make them say something, make them dance for you, whatever.
-people have cell phones and cameras on them, combine that with youtube, and then make them post videos of themselves at PAX East 2013 doing something silly or whatever you choose, and then have people like their videos and such over the weekend. Give away a prize to the person who receives the most likes or something.
I'm sure there is a way to modify any of the above to those who are there just for the day. But those are some ideas to build upon.
team talked about some of these ideas. We will definitely be doing some 'only on Twitter" promotions that span the BYOC and we'd like to continue out egg hunt promo.
Something I have done is create some QR codes on stickers magnets whatever and only a few are winners the rest link to your site etc. that way there are hundreds if not more of them floating around and it makes it fun trying to scan them and find the winning QR's
If you could somehow organize a flash mob of this dance with everyone wearing shirts of your company's logo, I think you would have an instant winner here.

What do you think about volunteers to replicate the Double Dream hands dance?
...as mentioned previously, we will NOT be doing Gangnam Style dancing.
I've done a few flash mobs in my life. (between PAX and Broadway Across America)
This is fairly simple choreography to pick up. It is mostly all hand movements, but there's a lot of elements in this.
One person stands in the middle of a crowded area, hands down, heads down
(Cue music)

Bring arms up, down, and then back up and higher
Thumbs point to self, and down.
Point right hand low to high
Burst right hand, and then bring down.
Fists to sides
(Count down begins)
With right hand, fingers "5...4..3..2..."
Burst Both Hands down "1..."
Two seconds, next 4 people join in next
Right Hand Punch Up, Down then Across Left (twice)
Crank to the Left (raise right foot tap floor)
Crank to the Right (raise left foot tap floor)
Crank Left again, stay down, hands above knees
Using Left Hand, push shoulder out, then chin out
Roll right shoulder back turning body to face forward

However, this is a good song for a flash mob. It starts off really slow (for one person), the count down allows you to add in a few more people.. and then the second and third iteration allow you to grow the group.
I would be interested in doing something with this song if there is something that gets organized with it.
the part that kills me is the "shoulder, chin, shoulder, shoulder."
I've always wanted to somehow be associated with a flash mob....still laughing at the visual in my head....with that said, I am not sure how to recruit and/or how to organize shirt dispersal, get a "lead". I would be happy to fund the shirts so the participants look uniform... maybe 60-75 or so? and play the DD Hands song at a specific time on Saturday. If someone could help me organize this, it would be fun and I would reward the organizer with a plentiful amount of Corsair HW.
The scavenger hunt at East 2011 was fun (I'm the guy that got second.) It almost killed me, the BCEC is HUGE...but it was a good time, I think it would be better as a partner event instead of a single person event, just my 2 cents though.

Looking to see if this is something we can sponsor....no promises but great minds think alike.
in the time that I posted, I think that the scavenger hunt will be hard to reward for a exhibitor, checking things off the list, finding the high score, etc. I did get an idea that I will likely be implementing for the show though.
I dislike the scavenger hunt things some vendors have done. It usually involved running a loop of 4-8 exhibitors who are working together on the contest. In the past the ones I looked into usually took too long, eating up a bunch of convention time...and then you were basically just getting a ticket in a drawing if you finished it. BYOC has done some fun contests...usually involving obscure games. I know at the first pax east we had to balance a RAM DIMM on our finger and stand on one foot, whomever lasted longest won an 8GB RAM Kit. There was a psychedelic tetris game we had to play...a Oregon Trail race.
@Macrogeek, I ended up with the same thing. Contests should be fun and somewhat easily accomplished and memorable to you the customer. Please stop by the booth and check out what activities are at the Corsair booth.
We will be posting events via our FB and then some via twitter.

I did Line Entertainment last year for PAX Prime '12 and actually have a couple of fun ideas you can do that does not involve eating or liquids.
Check your PM!
