Ziggymon got me thinking in the schmup thread about expensive/rare games when he mentioned Border Down. I know I'm not the only one here that can be filed into the ranks of the Young and Poor (or more specifically, in my case, Young Poor College Student). I also know that some here aren't hurting for cash. Regardless, gaming can be an expensive hobby and we all have our dream games/systems we wish we could buy. So if money were no object, what games, systems, and set-ups would you blow your dough on?
I'd want to get a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga, a complete copy of Chrono Trigger, a copy of Radiant Silvergun, A white Japanese Saturn (This is actually attainable for me, but... it's still a dream at the moment ) , and now thanks to Ziggymon (fucker) I want Border Down. Oh and I need a new TV... a big one, that's flat, and is pretty.
Even as a poor college student, I find that time is a far less plentiful resource than cash. I could list about a hundred things I'd buy, but I'd never get around to them with all the assignments I've got.

I have a factory-sealed original copy of Chrono Trigger I got off a guy that worked for Squaresoft back in... 2000, I think. I used to keep up with the value of the thing back in the day - it's something like $200 or so now - it peaked before the PSone port was released at around $300, though. Thankfully the port didn't completely destroy the value.

A 25 machine arcade in a future house someday. Anymore then 25 and I will be spending time fixing the damned things all the time.
I would go to the Bar in Durham that has an F-zero AX machine, walk up to the manager, and say "how much mate?"
Then I would get a nice 360 + monitor + surround sound set up, a bunch of Wii/360 games, and some crazy excentric Japan only DC/Saturn stuff.
Edit - Pink Floyd title ftw.
Which bar where?
(Lives near-ish Durham)
Anyways, I'd get Radiant Silvergun, Nights and the Saturn to play 'em on; PAL Symphony of the Night; Japanese N64 with Sin and Punishment; US SNES with Crono Trigger and SMRPG; and US PS1 with Crono Cross, FFT, Valkyrie Profile and Parasite Eve.
On the non-gaming front, I'd also chase down a copy of Begotten on DVD.

Area 51 and Point Blank Arcade games.
A Pong Arcade game.
Commador 64.
A MacPro with 8 cores for Crysis (give Apple two months).
A PiPiN.
Virtual Boy.
A big HDTV and 5.1 system.

It's tucked away in the bottom right corner of the Walkabout in Durham Town.
If you go intending to unlock the AX stuff on your GX save, make sure you have an official memory card that will fit in the slot...
...my 3rd party one didn't, although I managed to unlock the AX courses by doing the other GPs in master difficulty soon afterwards.
A few years back when they first started putting giant simiulators around as game machines (£2 a go for 1/2 people) they had wipeout on them, those machines were bigger than the grand prix ones today, they also moved far more. I had my name down on first place on the 9 machines I came accross in the south west of england.
I would buy those machines and link them together the idea of having 8 hooked up together for a wipeout race against your buddies would be awesume.
Failing that I'd have a PS3 and PC hooked upto a rear projector onto a wall giving me a 8ft by whatever screen mixed in with 5.1 surround sound speakers, with wireless controllers/mice/keyboard. The PC being you standard (insert latest tech here) machine

Ah, Walkabout. I have a grudge against that place for replacing what used to be an excellent cinema.

I'd get a 1080p projector, all the old consoles and games I can't get through BC on newer machines, and all the new consoles + fuckton of games.
Then I would just watch HD porn on a 10 foot high screen all day.
You guys are fucking kidding me. Chrono Trigger is worth $200? I have three copies of the SNES cart here in my house. Me and my brother bought one together (he has since moved out and is working), I got one for my birthday that same here, and then a friend gave me his when hem oved.

$200 sealed.
Makes a huge difference. Cart only copies go for far less.
I actually don't think I'd buy any games or systems... Just an HDTV and a good sound system, and someone who can set them up and tell me how to use them, because I don't have a clue. (The number of issues people post about here, how they couldn't get X game on their system to work in Y resolution on their brand Z HDTV, it just totally turns me off to the idea of HD unless someone is doing it for me.) Then, have the gaming area redone. Some real walls, carpet, new furniture, good lighting, and an entertainment center designed for console gaming. I'm tired of being relegated to the Realm of Darkness, aka the storage room in the basement, where no sunlight enters, quarters are cramped, the furniture would have been garage sale'd or thrown out years ago if we weren't using it, and the furnace periodically hums loudly for 45 minutes at a time.
I actually have a list on my desktop of the things I want, be it crazy or attainable. Anything from a recent game to high end furniture. I also have a list of things I think I need. Helps keep my life centered. The only thing better than turning on my new tv was crossing it off that list. Mission Accomplished.
My own house.
New tv.
New PC.
Dreamcast plus every game ever for it.
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 arcade machine.
4 Gamecubes each with network adapters always playing mario kart.
Surround sound.
Hell, another tv.
Killer Instinct Arcade machine
Skeetball machine
A tv made just for showing Ninja Warrior 24/7
Every game I have ever even had the slighest desire of owning.
They don't make nice, expensive things for the games I care about enough to invest the money - your Phantasy Stars, your Lunars. (I'm not drawn to collecting sealed copies of games.) Nice and just plain hard-to-find things, sure...
So for the first time in years, I'm actually getting a tax refund. I ditched Turbo Tax this year and ended up getting $166 back instead of owing $60 like normal. I will probably also get another $60 from state, but I still have to fill those forms out.
So I've decided that since my printer is super old (like 1993 old) and doesn't perform well at all (360 dpi CMY but no K, with prints clocking in at 5 minutes per) that maybe I should get a new one. So I'm thinking I'm gonna take my refund and get a cheap color laser printer.
Then maybe I can get a table at Otakon and sell shitty artwork to pay for my trip. :P When you've got your own printer and you're staring down the barrel at something ridiculous like 1/10 of a cent per print, this starts to sound like a profit margin you can get behind.
Some day, I will own a Metal Slug arcade cabinet. Maybe I should just buy MS:Anthology for the Wii right now, but I haven't because the whole "awkward controls!" thing scares the hell out of me. Because I LOVE me some Metal Slug. Srsly.

It's sitting in a case on the wall.
Adventurevision.
I'd probably buy a TV so I could play console games.
Then I'd buy all the systems I missed out on growing up. Like the Nintendo consoles.

It's a Marushin gas revolver - Colt Constrictor .357
I lust for it so, but the gun costs around $160, and a set of 6 extra shells to load BBs into costs $30.
But if I could have anything, it'd be that awesome gun and a few sets of ammo reloads.

Parties at your house would be rad. Just keep the cock play for when no one is visiting.
