There's a number of players who were high picks that started off poorly and ended up being good when they were put on the right team in the right position.
I'm not saying he's going to be a superstar...or that he will even be good. I'm just saying that he had first round talent, the Giants are good at grooming defensive players, therefore this could work out well for them.
For reference you'll note the "might" and the "maybe" in both of my posts.
I am not arguing that point so much as your assertion that simply being picked in the first round proves they are talented. Mistakes can be made in even evaluating the talent level of a first round pick.

New York Post beat writer Brian Costello (one of their ones who's actually credible and has sources within the Jets) says Geno was impressive in minicamp; there's a sense around the Jets that they want him to win competition and start Week 1; and the Jets are (at this point) willing to pay $6mil of the $8.75mil owed to Sanchez in order to trade Mark to a needy team in preseason. No matter what, the odds of Mark lasting with the Jets to Week 1 look slimmer and slimmer every day.
