    man, I largely oppose stringent gun control but don't really understand the objection to background checks

    even on a strictly constitutionalist basis the 2nd Amendment doesn't say anything about infringing on the sale or purchase of arms

    I saw so many videos of them lobbying, shaking hands and seeing them hand photos of their fallen loved ones to congress men and women. Did you see the reaction from that guy from West Virginia (I think he's from WV) all he could do was tell them he is a parent and a grandparent.

    Between the CISPA passing the house and the failed gun legislation, not much good news out of the US Congress today.
    Some days I will compulsively read all kinds of news sites looking for interesting stories and whatnot but today I was just like, man, all this is just depressing.

    The documentary Bowling for Columbine made me hate the NRA more that I thought possible. Its their policy to hold press conferences in the location of mass shootings as soon as half a year after the event. Who the hell sees a bunch of kids get killed on the news and thinks "what a perfect place to tell the world that guns are the best thing ever"

    the NRA is pretty awful but Bowling For Columbine is largely lies and misinformation

    I've been thinking of a story. I have a setting, and characters and maybe even a bit of a plot.
