Not a bad idea, really. This seems like a game where we would really want a village network to be set up early. There's no guarantee a vig's called kill would go through if it only hits people in the same time period.

It is! But that's not the one I'm going to talk about.
It all happened in this phalla. I was a village idiot with a post restriction that required me to post in all caps. I could also give that post restriction to other players, but I only ever used the ability once.
Anyway, Baidol is voted out on day 1, reveals himself as village masoned with Alegis. Instant network. So, just for fun, I get in touch with Alegis and claim I'm an alignment seer, saying that kime is confirmed village. Alegis believes me and gets kime in on the action. However! None of us at this point know that:
The only village seer actually died on day 1;
kime is actually mafia.
Just to add even further to the hilarity, the guard is ordered to guard me and not Alegis for some reason. So we end up with one very dead network head, and a network that wastes time chasing false leads while being almost completely run by mafia.
Let's be fair, that game was over 50% mafia/neutral, and there was a mafia busdriver (so guarding you was completely irrelevant).
The village wasn't winning that game.
