Scalper ticket recall will hurt other people!

From the PAX website:
3. We have a number of flags for scalpers set, and after going through the data, we have identified those that clearly tried to “trick” the system and buy badges in bulk. All of their orders are being cancelled, so watch out when you buy on ebay/CL.

Here is the problem with this....I ALREADY bought a ShowClix account from someone which has 4 tickets for each day on it. I thought this solution was foolproof...until today. I am certain the seller will get flagged for scalping since he had more tickets for sale. How can I prove that the tickets belong to me (and my friends) now??? If they get refunded, HE will get the refund AND might not return my money!!! I am sure plenty of other people are in the same predicament or have put down payments on tickets that are being recalled. Please tell me there is a solution to this....I will do whatever it takes

Unfortunately for you, the PAX folks are anti-scalping *and* anti-ticket-reselling, and they've talked about it and how they were going to be canceling pass orders that were obviously scalpers both here and on Twitter during and after the sale. So the fact that you bought from a scalper puts you at risk and if the scalper's tickets are revoked, I'm sure you'll have to take it up with the scalper and hope he's not TOO scummy.

This is why you don't purchase tickets from a second party.

Their methods are pretty remedial. They'll check credit card numbers, shipping addresses, MAYBE some basic IP information, but if the address was NAT'd, that'd be useless. A person who used 3 credit cards and listed 3 addresses (let's say home, office, and 1 PO Box) is going to get all 12 tickets, I pretty much guarantee it. Professionals have hundreds of PO Boxes and credit cards.

They say the same thing about canceling scalpers every year, and every year most people who buy from multiple transactions get all of their badges.

3rd party. Showclix was the 2nd party.

If me and my girlfriend's purchases get flagged, I'm going to be so pissed. We both made purchases on her phone because it actually worked unlike using our computers and we bought a total of 5 sets for us and some friends. Blargh.

Yeesh. This makes me scared as heck. I was so amped to go, I did whatever I could to get a pass. Ended up buying one on eBay for 3x markup. What happens if my pass gets cancelled? I already booked a flight. Do people think that I would be able to buy a pass outside the door or something? Probably over-thinking it.

We already have a thread for registration. Your only real recourse at this point is to email registration@paxsite.com and attempt to explain the circumstances.
